You may remember Seymour Loudmeow, who was adopted from us back in September after being abandoned at our front gates in June.
Seymour was adopted by a loving family experienced with Bengal cats. They knew he would be a challenge, but were committed to giving him the time, patience, and understanding he needed to feel safe and comfortable in his new home.
After spending six weeks indoors, Seymour became aggressive whenever he was let outside. His new family worried he may have to remain an indoor cat forever - not ideal for an energetic, inquisitive Bengal cat. With his new home being a farm chock-full of opportunities for adventure and exploration, it seemed unfair not to give him the freedom to roam.
Their solution was to build a temporary catio, allowing Seymour to experience the outdoors without giving him free rein, which could become overwhelming. After a few weeks, he became much calmer, and the catio was taken down so he could finally explore freely.
Fast forward several months, and Seymour is doing amazingly well! He now roams happily around his new kingdom, has even found himself a girlfriend - the neighbour’s Ragdoll cat - and has become very generous with the occasional mouse gift for his family
Seymour still gets a little territorial when people appear at the end of “his” garden, but these days he mostly just shouts, does a Tigger-style bounce, and attempts a rugby tackle to remind everyone who’s boss! It’s incredible progress from where he was before.
He’s such a character, and his family say they can’t imagine life without him. We’re so happy to see him enjoying the warm weather and living his very best life.
