🌷Mother’s Day

We all know mothers are important right? They nurture us, feed us and bring us into life. Today is Mother’s Day and we’re taking the opportunity to give thanks to another mother - the Honest Crust mother- the sourdough starter which is the very foundation of everything they do. She’s been living at HC headquarters for 14 years, having been adopted as a girl when she was already 18 years old - at 32 that puts her in her motherly prime and, if you’ve eaten an Honest Crust pizza, she’s fed you too!

She’s made up of a simple mixture of flour and water which creates a complex living culture of yeast and bacteria. She leavens their dough over the course of 48 hours. She makes it look easy but like every other mum we know it involves lots of love and a good dose of hard work.

Late in the day…but better late than never, Rich is looking to name her, the source of all his sourdough goodness. Please put your name suggestion in the comments. The winning name will entitle you to free pizza’s for a family of four, plus a tiny piece of her…so you can keep her doughline going..and to celebrate Mother’s Day, what better way than to treat Mum to an Honest Crust pizza?
