Freya’s journey 💕

Back in January, Freya came to see us after her owner noticed a lump on her leg. After testing, we suspected a soft tissue sarcoma.

To avoid amputation, Freya’s owner chose surgery. Our vet Grahame carried out a tumour removal with a skin graft.

Freya’s skin graft didn’t take as well as we hoped it to. What followed was weeks of dedication to getting Freya well again.

She visited every day for 6 weeks before moving to weekly visits as she started to heal. Throughout her time with us, Freya was so brave and this picture sums up her character perfectly.

And now, 4 months later… Freya is fully healed and back to full health! 💕🐶

Stories like this are why we do what we do. We couldn’t be happier for Freya and her owner.

🚨 Travelling to the EU with your pet? Important rule change from 22 April 2026 🚨
If your pet currently travels on an EU Pet Passport, this will no longer be valid for UK–EU travel from 22 April.
👉 Instead, you’ll now need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip.
This change affects dogs, cats, and ferrets and if you’re not aware of it, you could be stopped from travelling.

Microchipped, but no details attached to chip.
No collar.
Found nearby on Mauldeth Road West.

Certain Christmas foods can make our pets very sick. In particular, raisins, chocolate, onions, and garlic are toxic to pets. You should always avoid your pets getting hold of bones, but turkey bones are brittle and prone to splintering. Finally, not a lot of people know that poinsettias are toxic to both cats and dogs. Please keep all festive treats well out of paw’s reach this Christmas! 🎄 However, it is not all doom and gloom; you can give your dogs one of Santa’s reindeer carrots! 🥕

🛑 Keep sweet treats out of reach—especially chocolate and xylitol!

🚪 Keep pets indoors during trick-or-treat hours—strangers and loud noises can be overwhelming.
🐶 Make sure your pet's ID tag and microchip info are up-to-date—just in case they sneak out!
