Tip 3. The best equipment to use when grooming.

There are a wide variety of tools and produces that you can use for grooming your dogs. Some of the top ones are.

Comb. These comb are come in a variation of size depending on your dog coat type. The best one to use is a medium size comb as these are good for all round combing. Fine toothed combs are good for getting fleas out early.
Brushes. A commonly used brush is a slicker brush as these are all purpose brushes. That can be used in a variety of different ways.
PH Shampoo/Conditioners. Make sure these are dog friendly as most human grooming products are poisonous for dogs.
Electric Clippers. Depending on your breed and it’s coat type. A electric clipper are good of quick way of grooming. Making it easier to keep your dog healthy and helps with bonding with your four legged friend.

Tip 2. Choosing the right dog toys.

Depending on your dogs preference there are a wide range of dog toys on the market. These are some of my personal favourites.

Kong Toys: As they are good for all dogs. They come in a variation of different sizes and uses. Such as putting treats in them as enrichment.
Chuck It Toys:These are good for dogs that like to chew. As they are made from thick rubber. I found that out from personal experience.
Puzzle Toys:These are good for your dog, as they can help them to challenge there intelligence.
Chew Toys: These toys help with the need for your dog to chew things that they are not supposed to. They also help with there teeth to keep them clean and so they don’t become out grown.

Tip 1: Getting a new puppy/dog.

It’s best when getting a new puppy or dog to do your research.
As there are many factors to consider such as:

Living situation. If you live in a flat or house for example. (Size/ Age of dog)
Home/Work life. If you can give your new friends enough of your time.
Breed. The exercise level can change due to what breed you want.
Grooming. The amount of hours needed for grooming, depending on breed.
Enrichment. Giving your dog enough playtime and areas where they can exercise and socialise.
Health care. Looking in to what general health problem your chosen dog has.

This week I was introduced to a great new client and there dog called Cassie. She was a very excitable cocker spaniel. I took her for a walk on Thursday, and she was a very good companion. She also loved making friends with other dogs. I hope that I can go on many more walks with Cassie, so we can become good friends.
