Ever wondered why dogs smell *so* strong when they’re wet? 🐾

Water brings out the oils and microorganisms already sitting in the coat and on the skin — which is why the smell suddenly becomes a lot more noticeable after rain, swims, or baths.

Thicker coats can also stay damp underneath for longer than you’d think, even when the surface feels dry. And staying damp for ages isn’t particularly comfortable for them either — especially around the chest, legs, and undercoat.

That’s why drying them properly matters. Less wet dog smell, more comfortable dog.

We use cotton terry towelling, which is designed to soak up moisture quickly and hold onto it — not just move water around. It’s the same kind of fabric you’d expect from a good quality towel, just made to work for dogs.

Fleas & ticks are part of the reality when you’ve got a dog heres a few tips on how to handle it🐾

They tend to hang out in long grass, hedgerows, and woodland — all the places dogs naturally end up exploring.

No need to avoid it, just worth keeping on top of.

Regular washing helps keep the coat clear and makes it easier to spot anything early. Ticks usually latch around ears, paws, neck, and under the belly, so those are the spots to check after walks. Keeping up with flea and tick treatments helps prevent things from settling in.

It’s just part of the routine that comes with letting them get stuck into the outdoors.

Drying mitts = one of those things you don’t realise you need… until you do 🐾

Perfect for muddy walks, wet paws, or that classic “full body shake” right before getting in the car.

They’re easy to chuck in a bag, keep by the door, or leave in the boot so you’ve always got something on hand. Quick dry, less mess, and a lot easier than dealing with a soaked towel.
