This Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month, we would like to shine a light on how Veterinary nurses regularly show compassion and empathy towards clients and their pets, including at times, in their final moments with us ๐
Whether this be holding a pet as they pass, or treating them with dignity and respect after they have gone. Talk to us if you need any support surrounding the loss of your pet. Some of the thoughtful and caring services our nurses can offer include: taking paw prints from your loved one or fur clippings ๐พ as well as discussing options for once they are gone.
The role of a veterinary nurse can be an emotionally challenging one at times, and they, along with other veterinary professionals, can suffer with โburn outโ.
Burn out is a work-related psychological syndrome caused by prolonged physical and emotional exhaustion. This can be due to a combination of high-stress situations and nurses having a naturally empathetic nature.
Vetlife is a charity that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides resources and a helpline for veterinary workers who need support.
