These chemicals donโ€™t just target pests, they impact a wide range of wildlife, from bees and butterflies to fish, birds, and bats, disrupting pollination, food chains, and overall ecosystem balance.

Flea and tick preventatives often involve similar pesticide exposure. While sometimes necessary, what happens after exposure matters. Supporting the bodyโ€™s natural detox pathways with proper nutrition, antioxidants, and gentle detox strategies can help reduce the burden on the liver, kidneys, nervous system, and immune system. Itโ€™s not just about protection, but also about helping the body recover from what itโ€™s exposed to.

If you want to explore a science-backed detox option for your pet, comment DAILYDETOX and weโ€™ll send a link your way.

Your dog is eating grass again. Not nibbling โ€” choosing long coarse blades, chewing deliberately, swallowing fast.

Ten minutes later, she throws up on the patio.

You've looked it up. The internet says upset stomach, nutrient deficiency, or nobody really knows. The answer is probably simpler and older than any of those.

๐Ÿพ Watch what she selects:

She doesn't eat all grass. She wants the long, coarse, wide-blade stuff growing at the fence line or the garden edge โ€” not the short clipped lawn. The coarser the blade, the more it irritates the stomach lining on the way down.

This looks a lot like a deliberate purge. Wild canids do the same thing โ€” eating coarse plant material to trigger a vomiting response that clears the upper digestive tract. The grass isn't food. It's a tool.

Dogs that eat shorter, tender blades without vomiting afterward may be doing something different โ€” grazing for fiber, which is a separate behavior entirely. The purge pattern is specific: long blades, fast chewing, vomiting shortly after.

She's not sick. She's running a protocol her species has carried for thousands of generations. The couch is new. The instinct isn't.

The mess on the patio is the evidence that it worked. Clean it up. She feels better.

๐ŸŒฟ One note โ€” if your dog eats grass obsessively, seems uncomfortable before or after, or vomits frequently without relief, that's worth a vet conversation. Occasional purposeful purging is normal behavior. Chronic grass-eating or distress is a different signal.

With flowers like tiny stars shining bright in the Springtime sunlight, this gentle, joyful, nutrient packed and hardy plant offers so many nutrients to our body's, stagnant from winter.
It's flowers are said to predict the weather, only opening fully if 4 hours of sunshine is expected.
Cool and filled with moisture, Chickweed soothes and restores the skins balance from dry eczema. The kind left by winter winds. It relieves itching too.
It lubricates the digestive system, removes inflammation and supports so many of the body's organs, as well as the nervous system.
I have just made a salve for the first aid box, human and canine. I've made a tea too, so that my dogs can select its healing for themselves if they decide they need it๐ŸŒฑ

In conclusion, this study shows that the risk of cranial cruciate ligament disease in dogs is linked to how long they are exposed to natural s*x hormones, and the relationship isnโ€™t simple or linear. The highest risk was seen when females were spayed before about 1054 days (just under 3 years) and males before about 805 days (a little over 2 years). These results may help define what counts as โ€œearlyโ€ spay or neuter when it comes to cranial cruciate ligament disease risk.

Veterinary reproduction specialists now recommend hormone-preserving sterilization: preventing unwanted litters & less risk of torn cruciates.

Maybe they are meant for us, the journey we are on. They help us grow patience, compassion, empathy. They make us look at ourselves more deeply.

Or maybe they are showing us a path we are destined to go down.
When we look this way at situations that challenge us it can sometimes help us make more sense of them.
