NEW LEASE SYNDICATE – Alfa Kellenic’s Sister Now Available
We are delighted to introduce our new syndicate horse, A 2yo unraced filly by Mohaather, a Group winner as a 2yo, 3yo and 4yo latterly winning the coveted Group One Qatar Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Mohaather is the highest rated son of Showcasing, and he’s made an excellent start as a stallion himself. His progeny includes the 117 rated Big Mojo, a three time Group winner including the Group One Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes at Haydock, the progressive Cape Orator who was placed in the Group One Criterium International, the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes winner Ya Mo Be There, as well as a whole host of other promising types.
However, the most exciting part about becoming involved in this filly is that she is a half sister to Alfa Kellenic, a name synonymous with the success of Craig Lidster. Alfa Kellenic shaped with promise in her first two starts for the yard despite being tricky to keep right in the initial stages, before comfortably landing a Newcastle Maiden by four lengths.
The Newcastle success was the first leg of a historic six timer for Alfa Kellenic, who was expertly nursed through ranks from a mark of 70, peaking 31lbs higher at a mark of 101. Her successes included a sentimental triumph at York in June, giving Craig Lidster his first win at his local track York, a stage where any trainer is thrilled to perform on. Alfa Kellenic then took the Ayr Gold Cup trial by a short head, before returning to York to land a valuable £51,540 prize at the heralded Ebor Festival.
Her ceiling hadn’t quite yet been reached, as she won the Ayr Silver Cup under a 5lbs penalty in fashionable style, breaking a course record in the process, becoming a rare three year old winning filly of that contest especially off near top-weight.
Opportunities like this, combining pedigree depth, eligibility bonuses and affordable lease entry points, don’t tend to stay open for long.
