The Horse Guards

The Horse Guards Proprietors Arthur and Janette acquired the freehold of The Rose and Crown in 2004.

Of early 18th century origins it is believed by 1730 it was a pub known as The Crown and by 1740 as The Rose and Crown. To avoid confusion with neighbouring pubs of the same name, to create a unique identity and to pay tribute to the finest cavalry regiment in the British army, in which Arthur served, the pub became The Horse Guards in 2011. The aim has always been to reflect current trends in tas

te whilst retaining the finest traditions and charm associated with an English country pub. The Horse Guards embodies the modern country pub experience without losing sight of its roots and values. Combining the best of food and drink with a smile is the maxim by which we operate.
