Golden Apple Snails.

We absolutely love apple snails as they’re one of the best algae eaters you can get for your aquarium.

Ideally suited to community aquaria so they don’t get pestered by bigger, more boisterous fishes. These will grow to around 5” in the right size tank.

We have plenty of these available and they’re currently eating algae wafers and courgette. For that reason we do not recommended them for tanks with delicate plants due to their herbivorous nature.

Tetras, Tetras, and more Tetras.

We’ve had a number of fish arrive this week, most of which have been tetras.

Tetras have been a firm favourite among fish keepers for years and it certainly shows with the amount you all keep buying.

The photos show a few of the highlights from this week. Our Jumbo Cardinals, Rummynose, and Costae tetras are all looking in top condition as you can see.

Restock alert!!!

We’ve topped up on pond plants this week as you lovely lot have been buying so many from us.

We have a fantastic selection of lilies and marginal plants to choose from, as well as oxygenating bunches.

We’ve just restocked on budgies as stock was running low.

There’s plenty to choose from.

£45 each, and every bird comes with a free bag of seed.

As you can see our budgies have a lovely large aviary to fly around in. There are plenty of toys for them, and they have cuttlefish and millet available. We also regularly give them fresh greens and treat sticks.

It will be running over the Easter weekend and all customers with children are welcome to take part.

There will be 8 coloured eggs hidden around the shop.

Simply grab a form, find each of the eggs, and write down whereabouts in the shop it was found.

Hand in a completed form with contact details written on the back, and each child will receive a small chocolate egg.

All entries will then be put into a draw for some bigger chocolate prizes!!!

Spring colours!!!

Our Japanese Deshojo Maple bonsai trees look absolutely gorgeous at this time of year.

When they first come into leaf they are a really vibrant red colour. Then as the season goes on the leaves will turn a deep shade of green before finally turning crimson in the autumn.

We have a selection of Maples ready to take away, and they’re priced at £44.99 each.

We’ve had some cracking Japanese koi arrive recently at around 4-6” in length.

They’ve now finished their quarantine period and can go up for sale.

These are competitively priced at only £54.99 each and If you take 2 or more then they’re only £50 per fish.

Our Blue Forest Scorpion gave birth to around 20 Scorplings earlier this week.

As you can see she’s being super defensive and is caring for her young very well.

After a couple of weeks these will have their first moult and their exoskeletons will harden off.

They’ll then be free to fend for themselves, and we’ll separate them into individual enclosures.

We will update you on their progress when we have any news.

Why not pop by and come see her with the babies, as it really is quite something to witness.

We decided to build our budgies a brand new aviary as we're making a few changes around the shop (all will be revealed in due course).

The new aviary is bigger than their old one, and as you can see the Budgies are loving their new home.

We’ve restocked on lots of your favourite fish this week.

Otocinclus are always a winner when it comes to algae eaters. They’re perfect for smaller tanks and they won’t destroy your plants.

Gold widow tetras. Once again you’ve all helped to sell us out of these, so we’ve stocked up with plenty, and this time around they’re the long-finned variety.

White fin bentosi tetras. Stunning little fish which will add a burst of colour to any aquarium.

There’s plenty more which have arrived besides these, so don’t hesitate to get in touch and find out.

Just a quick update as we’re having a belated staff Christmas party next Saturday 1st March.

Our opening hours will change slightly to allow our staff time to get home and ready to party.

We will be closing at 15:30 instead of 17:00.
