IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Temporary Closure
We're sharing some incredibly difficult news with you today.
Following urgent discussions with our veterinary team, Eagle Heights is temporarily closing to the public, effective immediately, to protect our birds from the increasing threat of avian influenza (bird flu).
All of our birds are currently healthy — this is a preventative measure to keep them safe.
As a family-run organisation, our birds are part of our family. Many have been here for over 20 years. They are irreplaceable. If even one bird were to contract avian flu, the devastating outcome would likely be the euthanisation of our entire collection. We could not take the risk of waiting until it was too late.
What this means:
All November bookings have been cancelled
We'll contact affected customers directly about rebooking
Reopening date: To be confirmed (depends on the bird flu situation)
The reality we're facing:
Closing our doors during winter — our most financially challenging time — means we'll have no income while still needing to cover the £38,000 monthly cost of caring for our 50+ animals. Our birds still need feeding. Our huskies still need exercise. Our meerkats, alpacas, pigs, and all our residents still depend on us.
We need your help.
If you're able to support Eagle Heights during this crisis, please visit our Support Us page: https://eagleheights.co.uk/support-us/
You can adopt an animal, make a donation, or simply share our story to help us reach people who might be able to help.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We'll get through this together, and we'll welcome you back as soon as it's safe to do so. 💙
