The Best - not very exotic - Doggy Hotel

The Best - not very exotic - Doggy Hotel The idea is that your beloved pooch can come on holiday (whilst you are away) and enjoy lovely accommodation, great company, good food and inspiring walks.

What we offer at Olde England is doggy holidays and day care as reasonable rates for the discerning pup. Situated in the Kent countryside Olde England Best Doggy Hotel is a detached Grade 2 listed cottage set in an acre of enclosed garden with lots of good sniffs and plenty of great woodland and fields to explore. The hotel has a number of permanent residents (who regularly eat me out of house and

home) so a meet and greet with the pack is recommended before making your booking. Facilities include several dog beds, settees and armchairs and spa bookings can be made through the hotel for dog washing and grooming services. This is sometimes nice for home going preparations. Walkies is twice a day - usually one long and one short which are tailored to the guest's requirements. For the sporting extreme dogs and those who may wish to partake of the Health Clinic package vigorous runs at the Woodland Trust Estate Hucking are provided daily. The garden is open all day on request. Breakfast and dinner are served for you although we recommend that you bring your own supplies to avoid upset tummies. Treats and nice extras are also available if you are not on a strict dietary regime. We do ask that you have your fleas under control and vaccinations up to date please before visiting. Sorry we can't take naughty boys with all their bits - because Spud still has his . . . which also means no ladies in season either . . . unless you would like scruffy Jack Russell cross puppies . . .they would be cute though. I am insured and will be happy to show you my certificate - in return I will ask your hooman to sign a bit of paper so that I can travel you in my car and take you for walkies off lead if possible. Prices are per dog as the spaces are limited. The day care only (hours agreed between 10am to 5pm) rate is £15 and the holiday boarding rate per calendar day/night is £25 + bring your own food and a blanket if you’d like one. Drop off is an agreed time between 10am and 4pm and collection is an agreed time between 10am and 5pm. Early drop off to join us for walkies is at 7.30am sharp and can be arranged if you have stayed with us before.

What wonderful weather! so playtime then . . . new boy Brody is finding his paws along side special guests (who have been here lots before) Juno, Darcy, Mae and Gracie. I haven't done a group pic for a while so everypawdy had to take a break for me to faff about with my camera. They were really good as I had my long lens on so had to go back a long way to fit everyone in!

Just to highlight this to everyone in my area … these two characters were caught on one of my cameras checking out my place. To clarify this is a screenshot of footage that is now with the police as the couple were discussing my cameras etc (I think they were unaware of the one they were being filmed on).

I have also put this on Nextdoor - which has provoked some criticism (why are people judgy when they don’t have all the facts?) anyway for good or ill I put my address as I want everyone in this vicinity clued up for their own good as well as my own. (I can’t see how people knowing my address is more risky as it’s not hard to find out anyone’s and this shows I’ve got security that works!) the number plate wasn’t on DVLA … what a surprise 😡

Also although the female has a stick - suggesting she can’t shimmy up or down a drainpipe easily so I doubt she would be involved in actively but maybe she scouts for others as who is suspicious of someone disabled? Admittedly I’m guessing but this has got me twitchy.

The police have been in touch and have my footage and will be keeping a check. There is only so much they can do so I’m asking if any of you are passing please keep an eye out for me!

Happy New Year Everypawdy from the Doggy Hotel!

Enjoying a festive break this year are Matilda (who wasn't impressed at coming out for a rather chilly walk . . . my slippers will suffer in retaliation later) The Pickle (the only dog I know who can run in two different directions at the same time) Beah who acts like a mature lady . . . and then doesn't) and Bru Dog the lab who is fairly new here but loves walks (and looks maniacal in my pics but is actually really soppy). My crew too of course.

UPDATE: There was a sighting of Luna’s description (red fox Female Labrador) on the A20 in Harrietsham last night (08/11/25) which has been confirmed today with a sniffer dog that it was definitely Luna. This is the first sighting since November 1st. If you live in Harrietsham or the surrounding nearby areas please check CCTV, ringcams, dashcams, gardens, behind bins, garages, bushes, sheds. Last night Luna was shaking, hiding in a bush and extremely frightened and ran away upon approach. If you do see her, please do not approach, she will likely bolt again. Take a photograph of her, note your location, stay with her and call this number: 07734354218 Thank you so much to the people of Kent and beyond for all of your help, without your support on social media, Luna’s family would not have known about this sighting. Share like mad, let’s bring her home ❤️
