Henry and I wish you and your pups a very happy new year!

We would love to help all you new puppy parents out there, kick start the new year the right way, by introducing the beginners basic manors to your puppy.

We would love to hear from you about your journey as a new puppy parent so far and let us see if there is anything we can do to improve that!

We’re Back!!! 🐾

After a long, tiring, life changing year, Henry and I are pleased to say we have made it.
The last year Henry and I have gone through a lot of changes in our life, forcing us to put a pause on Henry’s puppy school, but, we have come out the other side strong and more determined than ever!

We apologise for our disappearance due to the unfortunate events that took place in 2022, but we are trying our hardest to get back on our feet/paws.
We understand this won’t be easy after putting Henry’s puppy school on a break after being so successful in the first place.
We can’t do it without you so please, we ask you to spread the word that Henry’s puppy school is back up and running, ready to meet all the new pups and their owns.

Henry’s puppy class ready to graduated yet another successful puppy group.

Henry’s Puppy School is starting up a new group of puppy’s on Sunday the 5th of September 2021.
What will you learn?
Henry’s puppy class works on teaching the 7 basic commands. As it will be your puppy’s first step into the trained world it’s best to take it one paw at a time.
The 7 basic commands are commands all dogs will use throughout its life.
So you will learn - The 7 commands, sit, stay/wait, down, look, come, off and heel. Impulse control Focus The meet and greet technique Puppy socialising A basic routine to help you practise

If you are interested in enrolling please contact Henry’s Puppy School.
Puppy classes are sold as a course of 4 session lasting one hour. All 4 session are paid in full on the first class. Classes are always held in the same place at the same time. 9am - 10am. ME1 3XY.
Classes are held outside in a secure field.
Classes can be moved/pushed back weather permitting. Any classes missed by choice of owner will be lost and no refundable. £60 per puppy.

I get lots of dog owners asking me...

“How do I stop people in public coming over to my dog, or allowing their dog to run over and distract my training?”

Well here are a few idea to help with that exact problem.

A Vest.
A fluorescent vest for you to wear explaining you are training your dog is a great way to catch people’s eye to let them know you wish for space and privacy.

A Bib
A dog bib in a small piece of material that lays over your dogs back, it comes in many sizes but normally in a bright fluorescent colour to catch people’s eyes. It explains your dog is in training and to give you both space. You can get similar quotes on collars and bandanas.

The Velcro Patch.
A velcro patch that attaches to the side of your harness or collar, will telling the public in one or two words, your dogs situation. It’s very eye catching as must people look at the dog before the owners.
These come in of quotes such as ‘NERVOUS’ ‘IM A RESCUE’ ‘NOT FRIENDLY’.

Colour Coded Equipment.
Colour code equipment is great if everybody knew about it. Not all dog owners know about the colour codes or what they all mean so this is a hard one to choose.
Many people get the colour lead and collar they like rather than the colour they need for their dog.
Red - Caution, I need some space.
Orange - No Dogs, I only like people.
Green - Friendly, I like to meet new friends.
White - Deaf/Blind, I can’t hear or/and see you, please move slowly.
Yellow - Nervous, please move slowly.
Blue - In Training, I’m for work not play please stay back.
Purple - Do Not Feed, please do not feed me treats.

Henry’s puppy class has graduated yet another successful puppy group.

We have had so much support and encouragement!
