After a brutal 2025 we’ve finally had some good news…
About 8 months ago my poor Mika had a field injury and damaged both her suspensory ligaments, leading to a very costly operation and a lengthy recovery.
But today we’ve finally had good news from the vets that the operation seems to have been successful and she can start coming back into work gradually and hopefully be back competing for this coming season!
Out of all the bad luck this year has brought us, I am also blessed enough to be entering the new year with a lovely new young horse called Oggie who I will be backing in spring 😃

This weekend we went to Bury Farm for Mika’s first away show. It was also my first time towing completely on my own so big firsts for both of us!
It was a slightly mixed bag results wise, a few clears but also a few stops just down to Mika slightly lacking confidence/concentration with the scarier looking fillers. She’s always a lot spookier when jumping indoors so I was expecting we might not get lots of clears like normal. But there were SO many positives! Considering this was her first time staying away from home in such a busy show setting, she coped so well with it all and really didn’t make a fuss even in the busy warm ups. Her technique over a fence is also incredible and she’s really starting to show her scope and talent. So excited for this little girls future 🤩

A Very cold outing yesterday to Brook farm with Mika 🥶 I went expecting very little from her considering that A- this is only her second time competing at an indoor venue and she can be very spooky at new places, and B- she’s barely had any work all week due to the frozen arena at home, but she exceeded expectations and jumped double clear in the 85cm and just had a pole down in the British novice. She’s on such great form at the moment!

Very early and foggy start on Saturday but Mika jumped a great double clear in the British novice and finished 4th! So pleased with how this girlie is progressing 😄

Osmika jumping double clear at her first BS show 🥰 only her second time jumping indoors in such a tight arena, we had a few baby moments but on the whole I’m thrilled with her!

Absolutely over the moon with Osmika today! Took her for a little jump round at Pyecombe and couldn’t have asked more from her, she has such a sharp brain and really tries her best for me 🥰
