On Sunday 7 September, the UK Government will be testing the Emergency Alert system at 3pm. All compatible mobile phones / tablets across the UK will make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate for around 10 seconds. Phones on silent will still sound the alert.

Dogs’ hearing is more sensitive than ours. If your dog is reactive to noise, startles easily or is anxious, here are some things to consider before the test:

- Walk them in advance of the test so they are more relaxed by 3pm. Return home in good time to a safe and comforting environment

- Keep your dog and phone in separate rooms and put the TV or radio on for background noise. Give your dog something to engage their brain such as a lick mat or long lasting non-rawhide chew. Provide reassurance if they need it

- If you are in a public space, keep your dog on the lead. Multiple phones could sound the alert from any direction, which could be disorientating, and initiate their fight or flight response. Others may also take their dog to the same “quiet spot” so be mindful that other dogs in the space may react differently from yours

Happy International dog day! 🐶

A day to celebrate all breeds and all dogs big or small!

Below our some images of my girls and some of the dogs I have the pleasure of working with.

I’m incredibly luckily that I get to see a variety of dogs each week and have been doing this now for over 4 years! Thank you to everyone who’s supported us and helped us on our journey with dogs.

Willow would like to add that all dogs deserve an extra biscuit today too 🤣

It’s going to be a scortcher again this week! Thank you to those that have rescheduled times, much appreciated.

Foodie Fridays 🦴

We thought wed kick start this Friday talking about chews!

Our Friday dog food post is about… lactose! 🧀

Did you know dogs don’t have the enzyme that can help them digest dairy. Meaning that some dogs will struggle more digesting dairy products and are lactose intolerant.

Goats milk contains lower lactose so can be much better than cows milk. Natural yogurt that has been fermented will also contain lower lactose.

I do occasionally still pay the cheese tax with my spaniels 😂

And just like that we are back!

We’ve had a fabulous few days, a couple of days just relaxing and then a few days at the game fair. We did one day with family and the other we bought the dogs. We took part in 2 different bale scurries and a mark and blind retrieve where to had to be back the quickest. Unfortunately no rosettes for us but they had an awesome time and we loved it.

I’ve caught up with most of emails and messages this morning. If you haven’t heard back yet let me know.

We’ve got a week packed full of walks, training, training classes and seeing lots of dogs!
