NEW PUPPY FOUNDATION COURSE!!
Hi Everyone,
Our next puppy foundation course is planned to start on Monday evenings from Monday 3rd August at 7:00pm
The class will be hosted by Family Dog Services trainer Amy.
The aim of our classes is to lay the foundation for a well mannered, obedient dog. The course covers loose lead walking, sit/stay, leave, not jumping up, recall, appropriate play and handling as well as other important life skills and advice on any puppy training issues you are experiencing.
We predominantly use reward based training using whatever is your dogs favourite treats, to enable conditioning appropriate behaviours.
Over the course of the 7 weeks we gradually increase the level of distraction/difficulty for each dog only at the rate that they are progressing so that each has the maximum chance of succeeding in each exercise.
Week 1 is a meet and greet without your dog. We will provide you with a welcome pack, explain what will happen over the course, demonstrate exercises that we will be teaching and give you a chance to discuss any issues you may be experiencing.
Week 2 – 7 are practical training sessions with your dog
Dates for this course are: 3rd August, 10th August, 17th August, 24th August, 7th September, 14th September, 21st September.
Note: there are no classes running on bank holidays
Family members are welcome to watch so that they are able to assist, keeping the training consistent at home.
These classes run on Monday night at the Farleigh WI Hall in Forge Lane.
