Crufts 2026 🐶

Another fabulous trip up to the Nec for crufts. We watched the agility championships, watched friends show their fantastic dogs in the basc ring and caught up with lots and lots of dog business!

We got an amazing haul, supported some new business that had never been to crufts before and visited some of the regular brands we use. The girls got new collars.

We got a few freebies too and some new treats to try.

I do enjoy chatting to all the dog food/treat companies and the natural ones are definitely my favourite. No nasties just good honest dog food/treats!

Today’s post is all about researching your breed with the world biggest dog show coming up and lots of different dog breeds being shown

We’ve worked with a range of breeds over the past 5 years and have absolutely loved it. Each dog has their own traits that can be breed specific or due to the environment they’ve grown up in. With crufts coming up there will be lots of dogs publicised and breed you may have not seen before. Some can be incredibly cute! BUT cuteness doesent mean they are the right dog for you.

Talking to other owners, doing some research into the breed and asking dog professionals (Vets, nurses, trainers, dog walkers and groomers) will help you gain insight into what you may be singing up for when you take on your new pup 🐶

We will be attending crufts next Sunday for working dog day. I will be taking my sister for her first time. This will be my 3rd! I absolute love meeting different dogs owners, networking with treat brands and chatting to business. I will show you all my haul and I feel this year it’s going to be a big one!

There is a few brands that haven’t attended before and we can’t wait to meet them. On our current list is new collars, treats and lucilin.

Our girls enjoyed some dog friendly pancakes for dinner last night!

They were made with banana, fettle goats milk, fettle pumpkin powder and a splash of water. Topped with their usual dog biscuits and wet food. With the addition of blueberries and raspberries and a drizzle of flax oil 🥞

The weather was absolutely rubbish yesterday so we took a trip to pets at home to buy the girls a treat.

Ever wonder when walking into a dog shop to buy treats and think what is the right treat for my dog?

Here’s a few ideas of what I look for when buying treats for the girls and what we ended up buying.

I tend to buy products that are single protein, grain free and look for treats that are derivative free! There is the odd occasion we do end up feeding a gravy bone or 2! And that’s okay we just try and keep away from processed treats and stick with natural treats as much as possible.

Willows favourite is fishy treats, so we bought fish skin braids and bites. They are great for their teeth and only contain white fish.

We also got puffed beef lung, again another single protein no extra ingredients.

We then bought some dried trachea from a brand called Naw who have a huge range of chews big or small.

I always make sure the girls are supervised when giving chews and make sure they have access to water. 🦴 🐶

Spending some time with my dogs after work yesterday between the rain! To do a little of bit retrieve training I used this water dummy from Sussex gun dog supplies. Definitely saved me having soggy canvas dummy’s 😂
