Why Pigs Love a Wallow!

There's nothing quite like seeing a happy pig enjoying a good wallow!

Many people think pigs wallow in mud because they're dirty, but the truth is quite the opposite.

Pigs don't sweat like humans do, so a mud wallow helps them stay cool on warm days. The mud also acts as a natural sunblock, protecting their skin from the sun and helping to keep pesky insects away.

Watching our pigs relax in their wallow is a lovely reminder that sometimes the simplest things bring the greatest comfort.

Have you ever seen a pig enjoying a mud bath? Tell us what you think they're saying while they relax in the mud!

Farm Life Today

Sometimes the best days on the farm are the simple ones.

This morning our animals were busy enjoying the sunshine, fresh grass, and plenty of attention.

One of the things we love most about farm life is how much the animals teach us every day – patience, kindness, confidence, and the importance of slowing down and enjoying the moment.

πŸ’š Which animal always makes you smile?

Share your favourite farm animal in the comments below and tell us why!

πŸ“Έ We'd love to see your photos too.

Corporate Volunteer Fridays at Heroes Farm πŸ–πŸ¦™

Are you looking for a meaningful way for your team to give back to the local community?

We're inviting businesses to spend a Friday morning or afternoon at Heroes Farm, helping with the day-to-day tasks that keep our animals happy, healthy, and cared for.

Your team could be helping with:
🌱 Farm maintenance
πŸ“ Animal care support
🚜 Practical outdoor tasks
πŸͺ΅ Fencing, painting and repairs
🌾 Preparing bedding and feed areas
πŸ‘ Supporting the welfare of our animals

This isn't a corporate training day or organised team-building event. It's an opportunity to step away from the office, work together, get your hands dirty, and make a genuine difference to a small community farm.

In return, we ask for a donation to help us continue caring for our animals and maintaining the farm.

Whether you're a small local business or a larger organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

Message us directly to find out more or book a Corporate Volunteer Friday.

Together, we can make a real difference for the animals and the people who benefit from Heroes Farm.
