Animal Rangers is a social enterprise for special young people who want to learn about animals.

Animal Rangers work with young people who have an interest in animals we run an animal clubs at the weekends to educate young people in Animal Care We offer animal handling sessions, animal ranger days at weekends and holidays, childrens parties and a young leaders programme where young people can learn all about our animals and get hands on involved in our

animal handling sessions. We also offer one to one animal therapy sessions

We work with young people in term time through our Heroes Programme who struggle in main-steam education, and offer work experience for over 16's.

They wear “snowy coats” – Aylesbury ducks are covered in soft, bright white feathers that look like fresh snow.

They have bubblegum bills – Their long, straight beaks are a lovely pale pink, almost like bubblegum!

They used to go on long walks – Farmers would walk them all the way to London to sell them at markets—like a giant duck parade!

They love paddling parties – These ducks enjoy splashing and playing in water with their friends.

They’re gentle giants – Aylesbury ducks are big, calm, and friendly, making them lovely to meet and feed.

Here are 5 fun and interesting facts about pet rats:

They’re highly intelligent – Pet rats can learn their names, respond to commands, and even perform tricks like fetching or navigating mazes.

They’re very social – Rats thrive in pairs or small groups and can become deeply attached to their human caretakers.

They groom each other (and you) – Mutual grooming is how rats bond, so if your rat licks your hands or hair, it’s showing affection.

They can ‘brux’ when happy – Bruxing is when a rat grinds its teeth softly, often paired with “boggling” (their eyes moving slightly) as a sign of contentment.

They’re excellent climbers – Pet rats love exploring vertical spaces and can easily scale cage bars, ropes, and furniture.
