Ziggy is a 5 year old Springer Spaniel owned by one of our vets Holly.
After bouncing around in a field, Ziggy developed a cough. Being grass-seed season, Holly was suspicious that he had inhaled one.
Holly anaesthetised Ziggy and used the endoscope to look into his lungs, where she spotted the tip of a barley seed hiding in a bronchus. Holly slowly and carefully managed to remove the seed from his airway. Ziggy is now bouncing around again, cough-free, and happy to have avoided it progressing to pneumonia!

🐢 TORTOISE MICROCHIPPING TIME 🐢
Meet Harry, Freddie, Eddie, Donald, Angus, Gerald and Bertie!

Our Veterinary Surgeon Olivia placed microchips into these Hermann’s tortoises with the assistance of Amy, one of our Student Veterinary Nurses.

We insert the microchip under the skin of the tortoise’s limb. A microchip reader can then be used to scan over the tortoise’s leg to read the unique number that identifies them permanently.

By law, all tortoises that are listed under cites annex A are required to be microchipped when they are >60mm* in length IF you want to sell that tortoise or breed from that tortoise (male or female) and sell the offspring.

To help with this we’ve partnered with RSVP, a dedicated call centre who have set up vaccination booking service. Their friendly team will reach out to you on our behalf to offer a convenient booking slot when your pet is due a vaccination.
