Sis... I'm hungry... Be patient, Sis! When we're in a foreign place... we have no acquaintances or relatives... we don't know where to go... we don't understand the local language... we don't have a cell phone... we don't have a wallet... Confused... Hungry... Thirsty... Sleepy... Tired... Scared... Panicked... And we don't know what to do... Besides hiding because we're afraid... hiding because we're tired... And hiding to avoid bad people and local authorities... hiding... and hiding. That's what it feels like to be an abandoned cat... Do you still have the heart to abandon a cat...?!? Throwing away a cat means killing it slowly🥲

My goat Shally is 7 years old. She saved 3 little puppies from hunger. My dog Shein didn’t survive the birth. I was left with a box of puppies — tiny, blind, crying for someone who’d never come. They squealed so loudly, Shally came running from the far end of the yard. She walked over. Sniffed. Then slowly lay down beside them — like she knew they were hers now. The puppies crawled to her. She let them nurse. Licked each one. And stayed. Since that moment, she’s never left. She bleats if one wanders off. She walks slowly — careful not to step on them. And they follow her, tails wagging, as if she’s always been their mom. And I thought: Maybe being a parent isn’t about breed — but about heart?

Friends, I regret to inform you that once again, I was forced to take matters into my own paws this morning

This morning began as all great tragedies do, with me being ignored 😾

At 5AM sharp, I began my noble duty ensuring the household remembered I exist and that I am starving

I started gently, with mum and the paw to face manoeuvre
Soft at first, like a polite tap at the front door
Then progressively harder, like a cold caller with no patience

When this failed, I escalated
I deployed the cold nose of doom directly into her ear canal complete with sniffing
Which I know she hates
She merely groaned and rolled over like a co**se at a wake and muttered “Felix, please”
Excuse me?
Please what?
Please continue starving?
Please perish quietly like some Victorian waif?

That’s when I heard Dad
Dad Snoring in the darkness like a broken tumble dryer with a sock jammed in it
So I redirected my campaign

I climbed across the bed, positioned myself with precision, and began scratching at the duvet like I was digging my way to Australia
Still nothing
The man slept on
Until I spotted his toes
Poking out from under the covers
Practically begging to be punished
My intrusive thoughts won
I clamped down like a starving crocodile
But With less teeth 😾
Dad shot upright with a scream that could’ve woken the dead

Mum laughed until she cried
In fact she full on snort laughed while choking on her pillow

Dad defeated got up and fed me and Willow
Victory was mine
Willow the lazy swine makes me do all the work 😾

Felix starving, relentless, and now officially Dad’s sleep paralysis demon
