🎆As we get closer to season, it is a really good idea to keep your pet’s microchip details up to date.
😰Pets can often panic during fireworks, and run off.
☎️If your pet is found, and your chip details are up to date, it takes 5 minutes for us to scan them, access your details, and call you to let you know that we have your little baby.
🥵If they are not up to date, we end up calling breeders, rescue centres, previous owners, and sometimes no one at all - all the while you are dashing around trying to find your pet.
💷If we cannot find the owner, pets can go to the dog warden - this will incur a charge to release them back to you, or may even be rehomed!
📝Most microchip companies charge an admin fee for updating details, but it is usually a smallish amount eg. £15
Finding your company is easy;
➡️Get your pet scanned - you can bring them to any vets or rescue centre, and they will have microchip readers.
➡️Note down the number
➡️Go to any of the websites in the picture and input the number. If it isn’t one of their chips, they will usually tell you which company it is instead.
➡️Call your company and ask to update chip details for your pet. Some companies don’t have a phone number, but a web form instead . Just fill this out and they should call you back.
➡️Put as many phone numbers as possible, home/work/mobile/Auntie Doris! We will try every number we have to get your pet home to you!!!
