Oak and I had a lovely visit to Mole Avon in Axminster this May! The staff were so welcoming—Chloe gave Oak a treat and a big fuss, and everyone was very dog friendly. Oak even spotted some Lamb Chop toys she might want for Christmas, and she kept a close eye on her pigs ear at the till. It is a great spot for outdoor gear and pet supplies with easy parking.

Looking for a dog-friendly place to browse in Axminster?
The recycling shop has been a favourite for years, with plenty of interesting finds, vintage treasures and bargains to discover — and the staff are always so lovely with dogs too 🐶💚
Definitely worth popping in if you’re nearby with your dog.

https://youtube.com/shorts/9kE_x596dt8?si=2wc7hk8fKEYFmccO It was such a beautiful morning this morning when I walked on the cob with my dog oak. I just wanted to keep the video completely natural and not have any music because the sound of the waves were so calming and gentle. They were fisherman out already and there was a bit of business but quite quiet. My dog oak like walking along the cobb and looking into the water occasionally and then glancing up at me. She is such a great dog. We had so many great adventures when we wrote the blog Oxford city dog. Now we are writing a blog called Lyme Regis dog and have bought the domain name and all and have managed to get all of the social media which is very exciting. I do hope you follow along on all our little adventures while we explore the wonderful historic Lyme Regis.

This morning Oak and I visited the Beach House Cafe in beautiful Lyme Regis, and it truly was one of those places that instantly feels special.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by bright colours, creative décor and a warm, happy atmosphere that makes you feel completely at ease. Everything about it feels seaside inspired, relaxed and full of personality.

The café is also wonderfully practical for dog owners. It is dog friendly inside and outside, with fresh water provided for visiting dogs, and it has flat floors with no steps throughout, making it ideal for older dogs or those with mobility needs. Oak settled straight in, which always says everything.

We enjoyed a lovely flat white coffee and a treat while chatting to friendly locals, with the sound of the sea just nearby. Being so close to the Cobb, with sea views from outside seating, makes it the perfect stop after a coastal walk.

It’s a place where everything feels easy, welcoming and genuinely thoughtful — from the food and coffee to the people and atmosphere.

We will definitely be back again soon, especially when the doggy ice creams arrive.

A great trip to Groves Nurseries! 🌿🐾

Oak and I recently visited Groves near Bridport. With over 160 years of history, you can really feel the heritage here! It’s super dog-friendly—Oak loved her doggy ice cream at the café, and the staff were absolute stars, even soaking her bandana to help her stay cool in the heat. 🍦☀️

Quick Tips:

Water bowls are available in the outdoor garden areas.

The conservatory is a roomy spot to sit

Don't miss the huge pet section for new gear and treats.
