Emergency in the Highlands 🌳

Lenny’s holiday in the Highlands took a terrifying turn when he suddenly became critically ill.

After he collapsed, his owner, Vic, and close friend Claudia rushed him to a referral centre in Inverness, where vets discovered he needed a blood transfusion to survive 🩸

Against the odds, Lenny pulled through, rediscovered his sophisticated palate for venison and wild boar pâté, and is now back to his usual antics!

Without a lifesaving blood donation, his story could have been very different.

To raise money and awareness Vic and Claudia's Canine Coaching had a charity working test and raised an amazing £450 🙌

Three days. Eight handlers. A whole lot of spaniel. 🐾

And what a three days it’s been!

8 handlers putting their dogs through their paces, pushing themselves, learning, problem-solving and, hopefully, taking away plenty to work on at home.

They’ve finished the three days better, inspired… and absolutely knackered! 😂

Massive well done to every single one of you — it’s been an absolute pleasure having you all.

2026 has turned out to be one hell of a summer. 🤎

Jäger has really matured into her training this year, and I couldn’t be prouder of the dog she’s becoming. With the help of some seriously excellent mentors, we’ve laughed, learned, improved, and put plenty of work into the areas that don’t always come naturally.

There’s something pretty special about watching it all start to come together.

And now, August 12th marks the start of the shoot season — one of our favourite times of year. The long days of training turn into days in the field, and all those little pieces we’ve been working on get put to the test.

Here’s to a bloody brilliant summer, the lessons it’s brought, and an equally brilliant shoot season ahead. 🥂

A very successful day at our charity working test! We raised £450 for Pet Blood Bank UK 🩸. Without them, we would have lost a very special dog❤️

MEET OUR NEXT YOUNG HANDLERS DAY TRAINER!
Claudia from Claudia’s Canine Coaching will be hosting our Young Handlers day in Lancashire on Saturday 22nd August.
You may recognise Claudia and her team from her much loved gundog display at Crufts. Claudia can be seen flying the flag for fit for purpose, working gundogs. Claudia is passionate about these dogs being seen by a wider audience, who may not understand or have first hand experience of the gundog breeds doing what they were bred for.
You will find Claudia training her clients from beginner duos right up to experienced dogs and their handlers. We’re looking forward to seeing the lessons she brings to the young handler sessions.
We are very excited to have Claudia on board for the first time this year, after interest in a North England location last year!
