Some sad news today, our beautiful tri-coloured girl Missy passed away peacefully at home yesterday (03/04/2025) on a warm sun kissed spring day. A fond favourite of many, our gorgeous girl lived out her retirement with Blue, Paddy & Coco. A real character, full of quirks, there will never be another quite like our Mismatch.

Please share your memories and snaps, we always enjoy reading them and remembering happy times.

Morning! Lovely snap of our two oldest gents coming in at Highway 34 and Blue 38 - still the resident trouble maker.

We love hearing your memories and it was a trip down memory lane for Peter when I showed him this post card of Jiminy and Rusty we received from Sara.

Sara visited North Farm with John Harrison (Head Teacher) of Barrow School and contacted us to say "Good morning and Happy Christmas. I just wanted to share a picture with you. This is a photograph of a postcard that I have kept for almost 50 years. It holds treasured childhood memories for me of camping in a field and riding through the forests. Peter made a lasting impression on a little girl who loved ponies and has had them all her life. The picture is Jiminy ( not sure of spelling) and I think the other is Rusty."

If you have any old photographs or memories, share them!

Thanks Sara, we hope you've had a lovely Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year!

Our Story

North Farm is a British Horse Society approved and South Shropshire District Council licensed riding school. With both ponies and horses available to suit the individual rider North Farm has direct access to Mortimer Forest from an unrivaled position over looking the historic market town of Ludlow. We offer rides for the complete novice to the experienced rider with instruction from Peter Dickin (Proprietor Instructor - R.D.A. Group Instructor, ABW) and his team. Hacks through the beautiful forest avoid road work and enable riders to take in the countryside whilst learning to ride. An outdoor arena, on site cross country jumps and show jumping facilities enable us to cater to your riding needs. Group hacks, family rides, parties, private lessons and pony days are all available upon request. Rides can be one hour, one and a half hours or two hours long. We take children from the age of 7 and riders up to a maximum weight of 15 stone. For more information please visit our website, email us or give us a call on 01584 872026. All messages are answered ASAP.
