***Attention***

We have received confirmation that we have a horse with strangles and we have also identified a potential second case.

These are young horses that have been on site in our yard or in fields around the village since they were born. They have never been to shows or external events.

As such we are now locked down (nothing in, nothing out) until it has run its course. We have identified and are closely monitoring all other horses which may have been exposed to the infection in the two-week incubation period. We are also monitoring all our other horses.

We have informed our livery clients and others connected with us who are also monitoring and taking precautions. Measures are in place to prevent the infection spreading further.
The horses concerned are under veterinary care and we are pleased that both horses are already making good progress towards recovery.
