Clover and Maggie did amazing in their IMDT Partnership Grade Assessment today.

Clover passed Level 3 and Maggie passed level 1.

They did amazing today. I am so proud of them both. Absolute superstars.

I have started taking Ffion on the school pick up, inside the school gates.

As a therapy dog she needs to be used to busy environments. The school pick up is busy and often has children running around. To settle in this environment is hard for any dog. We have done outside the school grounds several times but this week was the first time inside school.

She was watching around but managed to settle well. Very good for a first go.

It is important to set our dogs up for success. We sat away from the main crowd. I used a higher reinforcement than usual (sprats) and gave her a decompression sniffy walk afterwards.

People often ask me if Bonnie enjoys the therapy work she does?

Well here is your answer. Today, in a session with a young person, Bonnie was so relaxed, she fell asleep while being brushed!!!

We were talking about trust in relationships so this was a really good talking point.

The second picture is her looking amazing in her cool coat. We had a fan on in the room too so she was nice and cool during the session.

I strongly believe in educating children in dog safety at a young age. Over the last year I have done many assemblies, informal class talks and 1-2-1s on how to interact with dogs safely and basic dog body language and stress signals.

On Thursday I visited mountsorrel school foundation to chat all things therapy dogs and how to interact with a therapy dog.

Bonnie loved demoing some tricks and the kids gasped when she went to pick up my keys.
