Hello… I'm Hank.
I'm looking for something very special. Not just another home, but my person.
I'm a clever little dachshund who forms incredibly strong bonds with the humans I love. If you give me the chance, I'll happily become your shadow, your walking companion, your sofa buddy and your best friend.
• I love cuddles and being close to my person.• I'll happily curl up beside you in the evening and sleep close by at night.• I walk beautifully on the lead and enjoy getting out and about.• I let you know when I need the garden by barking at the back door.• I LOVE my food... possibly almost as much as I love my human!
I'm incredibly intelligent and I enjoy learning, but I also like consistency and knowing what's expected of me.
🏡 What I'm Looking For
I'd love a calm, mature home, ideally with someone who understands dachshunds and the way we think.
Someone who understands the importance of settling in and who won't expect too much from me too soon and give me some space and time
I need someone who will
:• Be calm, consistent and kind• Give me routine and clear boundaries• Walk me regularly• Feed me at regular times• Spend time playing with me.
Understand that companionship is everything to me.
I would not enjoy sharing my person with another dachshund. I'm happiest when I don't have to compete for attention.
I can also find busy places like cafés, pubs and restaurants a little overwhelming, so I'd much rather enjoy peaceful walks and quiet adventures with you instead. This is something I could learn overtime once I trust again
Although I struggle with being left alone I'm making progress and can now manage short periods on my own, especially when my humans help build my confidence gradually with patience, routine and positive reinforcement
