This doggy care is so so much more than a job. It's a way of life where you care for extended family. Sometimes you want to pull your hair out and certain things are so difficult. 10 wet muddy dogs in your kitchen having a shake is something I really do hate but a mop and bucket and its as good as new( well my new!)
At times they make me shout, scream, swear but above all laugh and love them. They are all individuals with their very own unique amazing characteristics.
The hardest thing and no amount of mops and buckets makes it ok is when one of your beautiful furbabies crosses the bridge.
For 7 years I've had the absolute pleasure of looking after this gorgeous handsome stubborn boy. When I first met him and his crazy German, I was told what a unique, head strong with a total mind of his own person in a dogs clothing he was. I poo pooed this thinking this woman was crazy and neurotic which( she is🤭) but gosh did she know that boy. He wasn't just a dog, he really did hold a conversation. He wouldn't come when you called him, he would go where he wanted when he was good and ready. He always had an agenda and if you didnt agree with it that was tough. He would move you out of the way to be where he wanted. If you gave him something that wasnt good enough he would turn his nose up and turn his back on you. But he was the sweetest, most handsome, caring, loyal, camel sounding companion you could truly wish for and my heart is absolutely broken.
Thank you Reggie (you crazy german) for giving me the last 7 years with your beautiful Shams and for trusting me to care for him. Both you and he have become so much more than clients. Shams was like one of my own and you have become a dear dear friend.
You did Shams proud and he joined the angels with liverpate on his nose and so much love. What a way to go. I am going to miss this boy so so much but will treasure the memories I have forever.
