One of our clients pony’s has managed to get out this morning- last seen about 5 hours ago.
Clients house backs onto Kershope forest along the B6318 near Sleetbeck.
He is microchipped.

Measuring the success of passive transfer:

We all know the importance of colostrum in passing antibodies to calves but where do you sit in terms of success rate?

Blood sampling calves between 1 and 7 days of age can be a great tool to allow monitoring of passive transfer and ensure your youngstock get what they deserve.

Typically a passive transfer of over 50 g/L IgG has been considered an acceptable minimum but for maximum health/growth we need to be aiming above the minimum, very possible as this result from one of our clients farms shows!

We monitor passive transfer on most of our dairy routines but suckler farms can also benefit from this service - please get in touch if you’d like to know more 🐄🐂
