Northumbrian Hedgehog Rescue Hedgehog Rescue Northumbrian Hedgehog Rescue Trust is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of Hedgehogs.

We aim to further the conservation and preservation of the species and to relieve the suffering and distress of individual hedgehogs in need. From our rescue centre in Northumberland a dedicated team of volunteers do their utmost to assist in caring for the adorable little creatures until they are ready to be released back into the wild. We’ve had a lovely delivery of gifts today:

A heat mat from Ian S and a heat mat from Denise N.
A third heat mat from L Charlesworth, with the message: “Hope it helps some hedgehogs out.”
A fourth heat mat arrived from an anonymous supporter.
And a Lakeland Wrapmaster for our cling film, kindly sent by a supporter

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Ashleigh, Lana & Katie from Sage! 🦔💛

We’re so grateful to Ashleigh, Lana and Katie for all their hard work at Melrose House. They rolled up their sleeves to give the place a thorough clean and helped move our resident hedgehogs from their summer garden into their cosy winter dwelling.

Because of their kindness and effort, the hedgehogs can settle safely for the colder months ahead. It’s teamwork like this that makes such a difference to the lives of our prickly friends.

🦔💥 Small hog, big attitude!

A feeding frenzy featured a surprise showdown: one tiny but determined hedgehog took on a much larger bully hog in volunteer Kay's feeding station recently. No spikes were raised, just pure persistence and a dash of cheek. He got bowled out the way though poor little guy.

We love seeing these moments of courage and character in our rescue garden. Every hog has a story, and this one’s a tale of grit, guts, and good grub.

For a minimum amount of £20, sponsoring a hedgehog can be a satisfying way of helping, and can also make an interesting and unusual gift.

You will receive a short history of how your hedgehog came to us, a certificate and a thank you card.

You can pay by bank transfer, cheque or Paypal. Please e-mail us to register your interest and we will respond within a few days.

Just a reminder that our festive auction fundraiser closes next Sunday, December 7th. Please take a look at the great selection of items on offer - there are all sorts of lovely things to bid on... Christmas shopping made easier, whilst also raising funds for our prickly friends! 🦔

Winners can pay by credit/debit card or cash on collection. Items will be available for collection from the Rescue in Longframlington from December 13th onwards. We may also be able to deliver in certain areas, or post small items (please check before bidding). There is also a ‘donate’ button on the auction website, for anyone who would like to give a few pennies.
