Each night, as the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, the Egyptians believed it entered the underworld.

There, chaos waited.

Monstrous forces tried to devour the light before dawn could return. But coiled tightly around the solar barque was Mehen — the great serpent guardian.

As the darkness lunged, Mehen tightened his coils.

Snakes Across Mythology: Asclepius and the Secret of Life 🐍

In ancient Greece, there was a god unlike the others — not a god of war or storms, but of healing.

His name was Asclepius.

People traveled across mountains and seas to seek his help. Temples were built in his honor where the sick would sleep, hoping for dreams that revealed their cure.

One day, as the story goes, Asclepius struck down a serpent that crossed his path. Moments later, another snake appeared, carrying a green herb in its mouth. It touched the fallen serpent — and life returned.

Asclepius watched in silence.

The serpent had revealed a secret: death was not always the end.
