The lymphatic system plays an important role in maintaining normal fluid balance within the body.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle technique that may be used as part of a supportive care plan for suitable dogs. As with all clinical treatments, suitability depends on the individual dog and their circumstances.

Please get in touch to learn more about MLD and see if it is appropriate for your dog.

"Massage is Anatomy in Braille" - **Quote by Jack Meagher ** Palpation can’t be learnt online or in a day. It’s a lifetime of study, practice and is perfected by seeing thousands of canine clients. When you stop trying to cut corners only then can you master the skill of canine massage which is where science meets art. As massage, real massage I mean, I personally believe is actually an expression of the self held with a strong healing intention with prolonged attention to help the other while recognising the same in you both. And that’s the place I teach this from. So if you thought it was a bit of rubby and a few techniques that you ‘do’ to the dog, think again. World class canine massage requires a world class teacher. Not just someone who teaches a bit of what they think they know but someone who gives everything they have experienced in the role authentically for the good of the student and the dogs who’s lives they will change . If that resonates with you click my link in the bio for more on our life changing courses details. "

Swelling can be a normal part of recovery, but understanding what is expected and what may need vet attention is important.
Owners are often the first to notice changes, which is why monitoring comfort, movement and swelling can provide valuable information.

One thing I often notice is that owners are understandably keen to help their dog get back to normal as quickly as possible.
However, recovery is rarely a straight line. Some days will feel easier than others, and progress is often gradual.
Supporting your dog means recognising that even small improvements are important milestones in the recovery process. By allowing your dog the time they need to heal, you're helping to build a stronger foundation for long-term comfort and mobility.

Recovery looks different for every dog.
Some dogs need more rest, while others benefit from carefully managed movement as part of their rehabilitation plan.
Paying attention to your dog’s comfort, behaviour and movement can help you understand what they need at each stage of recovery.

When we think about recovery, we often focus on the time immediately after an injury or procedure.
However, recovery is a process that continues as the body adapts and returns to normal activities.
Supporting comfort, monitoring changes and following veterinary guidance can all help dogs through this process.

When we think about summer comfort, it's easy to focus solely on heat.
However, comfort also includes mobility, hydration, rest, recovery and maintaining routines that suit the individual dog.
Small adjustments to daily routines can help support comfort, wellbeing and quality of life throughout the warmer months.
