🐰 Flystrike 🐰
Flystrike is common during the warmer weather . Flies lay their eggs on the rabbit and those eggs hatch into maggots.
They can eat into your rabbits flesh within 24 hours ,which can lead to death.
⭐️Prevention is better than cure ⭐️
🐰 Check your Rabbits bottom everyday, if there is any urine / feaces around that area clean and dry straight away
🐰 Keep their house clean so flies aren't attracted. Removing dirty bedding and feaces daily
🐰If your rabbit is elderly or overweight make sure they are able to groom themselves. If not regularly brush and groom them
🐰 Hygiene trims are a good way of keeping that area clean and stops feaces sticking to their fur. Drop me a message if you would like to book a hygiene trim.
🐰Rearguard is a product that prevents blowfly strike for up to 10 weeks after dosing . So apply before the weather starts warm up. Rearguard will not kill adult maggots so this product is for prevention of Flystrike.
⭐️If you find any maggots this is an emergency ,You need to get your rabbit to your Vets ASAP ⭐️
