✨ STAFF MEMBER MONDAY - OLA ✨

We would like to kick off ‘staff member Monday’ by introducing the newest member of our vet team - the wonderful Ola 💕

Ola is originally from Poland and has lived in the UK for 7 years. She has been qualified since 2024 and has hit the ground running!

Some vets pick an area they love and focus more on this area - but not Ola! She is what we would call a ‘jack of all trades’… She loves surgery, diagnostic imaging and inpatient care equally as much. This means no matter the case she is dealing with, she is in her element!

Outside of work Ola loves yoga, reading and getting her munch on in some new restaurants or cafes 🍽️ She has two naughty rescue cats called Koda and Blue - look how cute they are 🐈‍⬛

Fun fact - Ola is happy to consult in both English or Polish! This is not something all multilingual vets can do so it is pretty cool 🤩

Ola can’t wait to meet all of our lovely clients and their four pawed friends 🐶🐱

😺 CAT FRIENDLY CORNER 😺

Winston, RVN Gemma’s mischievous rescue cat, had a short stay with us recently. We were concerned that he had eaten something naughty and got a foreign body.
Vet Laura and RVN Gemma ran some tests, including an abdominal ultrasound, which luckily showed he did not have a foreign body but instead a very upset tummy and some constipation. After some medications, intravenous fluids and lots of TLC from his mum, Winston was feeling much better.

Winston came to us as a poorly stray kitten a couple of years ago and since then has needed to be in hospital a few times for various reasons. Because of this Winston can get a little bit nervous and shows some stress signs in his kennel. Lucky for Winston - his mum, RVN Gemma, is our cat friendly advocate 😻
One of our feline stress-busters is Cat-TV 📺 Winston was loving watching and listening to the birds, this helped him relax and enjoy his stay a bit more 💕

Isn’t Winston just gorgeous 🥰

🐾 Dog Friendly Accreditation 🐾

The dogs trust have created a ‘dog friendly’ accreditation, similar to the ISFM ‘cat friendly’ accreditation.
Every 3 years we have to re-apply to ensure that we are staying up to scratch on our handling techniques, kennel set up and all things canine-friendly.

We have a dog-only waiting room, spacious dog-only consult room and dog-only ward with ‘walk-in’ kennels for those larger or more anxious patients. Treats are ready in all rooms - we even stock salmon 🐟 flavoured treats for those allergy doggies!

RVN Emma is our dog friendly advocate, which means she keeps a close eye on our day-to-day handling of our dogs, making sure that the ‘CHILL’ protocol is used for the anxious/stressed patients, treats 🍪 are dispensed in a timely matter and tails 🐶 are wagging at all times!
All of our vets, nurses & reception team have completed training on canine behaviour signals and body language so we can spot when a dog is getting stressed/anxious and we can quickly intervene to reduce these feelings.

Roxy 🐕, Practice Manager Nic’s little baby, is a proud member of our dog-friendly team and can vouch for the wonderful job our clinic does keeping our four pawed friends waggy tailed and happy! Here she is getting her office hours in and making sure our dog-friendly protocols are up to her standards ✔️

“We are delighted to return for the 11th year of the Morden Family Funday.
In the last seven events, we have raised almost £60,000.00 for local charities, youth groups and good causes and this year we are hoping to increase this figure even more..
We cannot do this without your help! Every £3.00 entrance fee goes directly to the charities and every ride, tombola played, beer consumed, hot dog eaten, helps to contribute to these good causes. So thank you for attending every year in your thousands.”

We cant wait to see you there 🐾

💊IN HOUSE TRAINING FOR OUR TEAMS 💊

Last week we had a lovely external company called PetMed CPR Education Co. come out to us in clinic and deliver some training on CPR.

Within medicine, both human and animal, protocols, drugs, dos and donts and information is always changing and being updated. Because of this, both our vet and nurse teams have to complete a number of ‘Clinical Professional Development’ hours whereby we learn the up to date information on certain areas. This keeps us up to date with our knowledge and ensures we are giving your pets the best treatment we can.

This CPR training has ensured that our staff have all the up to date knowledge and information on how to deal with life threatening emergencies. We always hope that this never happens, however we are prepared for the occasions it is needed.

Thank you Sam for lovely day!
