With autumn here make sure on your daily walks your dog doesn't play or eat acorns. Acorns are poisonous to dogs and can block their stomach. Find out more at thekennelclub.org.uk/acorns.

This poor fox was brought to us today by a lady after he was discovered wrapped in a football net on a school playing field. The netting was cut away but the fox was hypothermic and staggering. He had been in the net possibly since Saturday evening.

HIs neck was wrapped right in the netting so as a result the neck has swelled up and fluid has pooled under the skin. His eyes are also blood shot due to partial strangulation.
Our vet prescribed an injection of steroidal anti inflammatory medication and antibiotics and we have to now monitor him. His back is also sore, probably from thrashing about to get free.

Incidents like this can easily be avoided by pulling up football nets and securing them with rope or ties when not in use. We have had to rescue pigeons, foxes, badgers, deer and hedgehogs from nets in the past.

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery

"I died today. I ate a mouse that was poisoned... A woman found me. I was so sick. She took me inside to be warm. I I opened my eyes to thank her for making my last few minutes as comfortable as possible. But I was too sick. I closed my big eyes for the last time and went somewhere else. PLEASE DO NOT USE poison to kill rats or mice. Poison kills owls. All I wanted was a mouse for dinner. I died today. ... It's so sad."

STOLEN

Bella was last seen Sunday morning, the 11th of September, in the Northfield area , across from the academy. Between long Walk Road and Provost Fraser Drive.

A neighbour alerted us that a young couple had taken her out of our garden and proceeded to walk away with her hidden underneath a jacket. It’s unknown whether they continued on foot or got into a car. We don’t know what this couple looked like. We haven’t seen her since and no sightings. If anyone you know has gotten a new cat and looks like Bella please let us know.

Her birthdate is unknown as she was a stray but she’s quite young, roughly 5 years old. She’s known for her white moustache and has a white chest, stomach and paws. She’s very fluffy and sometimes quite friendly.

SHE HAS BEEN NEUTERED AND IS MICROCHIPPED.

The crime reference number is CR/0072893/22
