Forget Google Maps. TrustedHousesitter Elizabeth found a better way to explore Washington D.C. - a Labrador named Myers who had very strong opinions about the route. 🐾

Rock Creek Park? Myers knew every trail. The dog park? He had friends there. The neighbourhood? He introduced them to everyone.

"He knew exactly which paths to take… I never felt lost because he led the way with such confidence."

Before long, Elizabeth and her husband weren't tourists anymore. They were regulars - jogging with Myers through lush green spaces, discovering Little Free Libraries, sharing golden sunsets at the park after long summer days.

Trading the exhaustion of backpacking for the gentle, unhurried pace of an elderly dog who loves tuk-tuk rides and secretly binging shows on the sofa? Now that is how you travel.✨

After years of moving to a new place every two days, THS member Cassie decided she wanted to experience the world more meaningfully. Her sit with sweet senior pup Mavis taught her exactly how to do that. Mavis showed them the best local spots, reminded them to slow down, and made a new country feel instantly like home.

As Cassie puts it: "Now that we’ve experienced the pet sitting life, we really couldn’t imagine any other way to travel."
