Always striving for the perfect legs and feet! Not quite paw-fection yet, but taking photos of a before and after leg on the same dog makes me feel like I’ve come a long way since starting my grooming journey 12 months ago. Thanks to Miniature Poodle Meg for being my leg model today 😜

Every dog is an individual and a groom that works for one Cockapoo won’t necessarily work for the next one. Take Lulu - she has lumps and bumps over her body which will never allow for a smooth, seamless finish. She also has crazy, frizzy hair (I know the feeling) which after a fluff dry can go extra bouffant. But working to ensure the groom is balanced, blended, tidy and suitable for the dog’s lifestyle so it’s easy to maintain in between grooms is the key

Lulu was the first dog I ever groomed and yesterday she was back for a full makeover. Swipe across to see the progression from 1. Muddy mess, 2. Washed and fluffed dried, 3. Home time. Lulu is a 10yr old cockapoo, absolutely adorable and I will miss her dearly when we move house at the end of January

Dear dear Dolly ... the most beautiful gentle rescue dog who’s fallen on 4 paws being rehomed with her lovely new family. Dolly’s always a little nervous when she arrives - but quickly relaxes on the soft mat and warm dryer’s turned on. The only problem we had today was her eagerness to lie on her back during drying to have a tummy tickle with the dryer on it 😂. A bit tricky drying her body in that position. Hope you’re getting extra cuddles tonight after your pamper 💙

This afternoon gorgeous Toffee came in for a groom. A nice short trim was requested which is perfect for the doodle breeds at this time of year. Their coats can get matted very quickly when they’re constantly getting wet and dry. Toffee is a dreeeeam to groom - such a beautifully relaxed and happy little Cavapoo

Today I groomed the gorgeous rescue, Jackie and then the ball of white fluff that is Chappie, the Maltese. At BlueBone I never cut corners with cleanliness to reduce any cross contamination between dogs. All equipment is sprayed with Barbicide then UV sterilised. All ready for a new client tomorrow who I can’t wait to meet

Award for the most chilled out, relaxed dog goes to the gorgeous Tilly who was here today for her post-holiday groom. I secretly enjoy removing bits of twigs and general greenery from dog’s coats ... lovely to know they’ve been enjoying and exploring the natural world around them. A dog’s sense of smell can be up to a million times more acute than ours - they discover so much about their surroundings and it’s also very relaxing for them. Tilly was an angel again today and as always I can’t wait to see her again 🐾💕🐾

I adore these 2 handsome men - 10yr old Theo and puppy Sonny, both Miniature Schnauzers and ‘brothers’. Their energy levels are like chalk and cheese so it’s fab having them in together as Theo’s calm coolness will help reassure the bouncy bundle of fun that is Sonny. No after pics I’m afraid ... sitting still at the end for Sonny was an absolute no no 😂

Meet Theo - a true gent in every way. Since his last groom Theo has suffered a serious health scare and yesterday’s groom was all about making sure he remained comfortable and relaxed. Any knots were snipped out and most of the groom done sitting or lying down. Such a happy, handsome Miniature Schnauzer with a huge personality and heart of gold
