Yes...and in the park finally off the lead. He just was happy, and loving being back to his normal self. Far from his majestic self, but definately on the all clear.

Out for his first walk on the lead. 10 minutes around the block and he was exhausted. Slowly slowly, but how great it was to go for a quick walk again with Bo.

His ulcer was showing great signs of recovery. It was getting better each day, and still being a good patient. He was moving more freely, on the lead.

Due to all the issues in the ICU and constant need to keep his eyes moist, an ulcer had appeared. Bo hates anything in his eyes, but as the dog he is, he knew he needed to get the med's in it. Hoping it would clear up and go away.

He went back to "The Ralph" for a check up, we had the all clear and his feeding tube was removed. His testicles had also gone back to normal, so we were elated. Miracle Bo. Still lifting him in and out of the car, and slowly slowly.

He was just the best patient in the world. Bo was brilliant, he knew he was getting better and with a routine, as much as administering it was not easy.

After the urinary infection, the toxin had done even more damage. One of his testicles had swollen up like a lemon. We were given the instruction to have them removed once he had a few weeks on his recovery.

Bo was doing so well. He had lost 30% of his body weight and literally a bag of bones. Weak, and very sensitive. His body was not doing what he wanted it to do, but he was beginning to have a routine.

Bo was home!!! Here he is on his matt and back to the normal smells he was used to. He was still having hallucinaitons, and was under a full spectrum of medication, being feed on liquids. Delighted, but still very poorly.

Over a month in ICU under 24.7 care, after every medication known, and against all the odds of survival, it was a miracle that Bo was allowed to come home. He still had a feeding tube, but we were beyond emotional that he has made it this far.

Amazingly he was able to get up on all 4's, and make it out to the garden for a "well deserved sniff and toilet break". While emotions were running high, he was still battling hard to beat this toxin. Sadly after so many tubes in him, he caught a urinary infection that was causing all sorts of issues. Still not out of the woods, but mobile, just.

If you live in London, you have been reminded that Dog Theft continues to be rampant.

In a new Daily Mail article from May 2023 there is worrying confirmation that dog theft is not going away despite the post covid changes to dog demographics. Not only are the headline theft numbers bad, but the recovery rate for reported cases is shocking.

The Metropolitan Police will also be well aware of the recovery rates which discourages them from pursuing cases.

It is the responsibility of dog owners to empower the police with evidence that is proven by case history to have the ability to obtain a warrant and pursue a conviction.
