Walking the dogs often sparks comments. The usual remarks include ‘you’ve got your hands full!’ and the somewhat perplexing ‘are they all yours?’ So today was a surprise when someone stopped to say we looked like a scene from a Disney movie! I chuckled and jokingly asked where Prince Charming was.

The day I collected Roxy from Lort Smith rescue centre 10 years ago, I took one of my closest friend’s dog Pablo with me. I couldn’t remember why I took him and my friend has reminded me today that it’s because I thought Pablo was “a good judge of character” 🤣🤣. Roxy’s first friend after coming to live with me was Pablo and as you can see from the photos, she’s pretty chuffed about it.

Throwback to baby Roxy: back in 2016 she was just 2 years old. In the second photo she is 7 months. She was a bit of a terrorist as a teenager and I wanted to formally document some of her escapades:
🗑️: Emptying the contents of the bin: eating any remains and licking wrappers clean.
📀 Raiding the DVD collection. Chewing the cases and taste testing the DVDs.
🐷 Broke into the spare room: helped self to an 18kg bag of kibble. Ate until she started vomiting. Did that on the sofa and then hid it under a cushion. Resembled a barrel in the abdominal area.
🛋️ Removed all the stuffing from the cushions. Tore the stuffing up.
👜 Played tug of war with my favourite handbag. Pulled it apart and tore a hole in it.
💙 Ate a bright blue leather wallet. Did bright blue poops for a day.

Luckily she has turned into a civilised member of the canine community. We love you Roxy! 💝💙
