Home Goodbye Calm & Compassionate Pet Euthanasia Service in the peaceful and familiar surroundings of your home

When you’ve made the decision to say goodbye, then get in touch and we can make arrangements to send our vet to your home. The process of putting your dog or cat to sleep starts with a sedative injection which allows them to drift off into a pain-free sleep. Once fully asleep, a second injection allows them to pass away peacefully. The whole experience is calm, compassionate and allows your dog or cat to die peacefully at home in the place they love, surrounded by the people they love.

This is a powerful sentiment, and it also raises an important consideration when saying goodbye to a pet at home. ❤️

When there are other pets in the household, particularly closely bonded dogs, we will often encourage families to give them the opportunity to see and investigate their companion after they have died, if they choose to.

We know that animals can show changes in behaviour following the loss of a companion, including changes in appetite, sleep, activity and social behaviour. While we can’t know exactly how they understand death, being able to see and smell their companion afterwards may help them process that something has changed, rather than their companion simply disappearing.

Every animal will respond differently. Some may spend time nearby or investigate, while others may show very little interest, and both responses are completely normal.

One of the benefits of saying goodbye at home is having the time and space to allow these moments to happen naturally. ❤️
