It’s perfect for training spaniels when the rabbits will squat out in the open and there’s no need to shoot them if the dog doesn’t deserve it. 🐰

Too warm again to waste good rabbits on hot dogs so this time we made a better choice and went to bother the bass instead and even managed to fluke a small one eventually after losing the best lures.

Of course no journey would be complete without a wee side market place mission for some bargain dog cages.

Making the best of the good weather in Bonny Scotland because the cold, wet weather will be here sometime, there is no doubt about that.

Some free advice for newcomers into the working spaniel world.

Don’t teach a dog how to run from left to right, teach it how to hunt.

The ‘winning way’ may put trophies on the mantle piece but it certainly isn’t the best way to put food on the table.

Game finding ability should always be the number 1 priority.

Don’t train the brains out of a good un or insult their intelligence with too much artificial training 🐰👍

Should have gone sea fishing instead 🎣
August has almost been a waste of time for the dogs, it’s just been too warm.
The early mornings and evenings are starting to get cooler now so hopefully September will be more beneficial 🤞🐰🐰 🍂
