Noodles having a lie down .. comfy pony.
Noodles is having a hard time with her front feet.
She is having her hooves bandaged every day with an old fashioned remedy of sugar and honey.
Every 4 weeks she is sedated by vet, John Galloway Abbey Vet Group then farrier
Kevin Moriarty digs out the infection.
She has slowly made progress.
We have tried modern medications with no success, so we thought we would go back to the olden days.. Noodles you are a special girl 🩷🦄

Would you believe that it's been more than 11 years since our beloved Thistle faced a huge challenge—he had to have one of his eyes removed. Fast forward to today, and he’s living proof that horses can thrive and lead completely normal, happy lives with just one eye!
Fun Fact: Horses adapt amazingly well to vision loss. They rely on their other senses—especially hearing and smell—to navigate their environment confidently. With a little extra care when approaching from their blind side, they can do almost everything a two-eyed horse can!
Thistle hasn’t let anything slow him down. He still enjoys his time at the stable, and remains a firm favourite among everyone who meets him. His resilience is a reminder that with the right care and support, horses adapt incredibly well to changes.
Here’s to Thistle—our one-eyed wonder and a true testament to strength and spirit! 🐴💙

🐾 Throwback Thursday at Boydstone Stables 🐾
We’re taking a walk down memory lane to celebrate three of our beloved past yard dogs who were the best of friends — Chaos, Bella, and Scrappy. 🐶💛
Each of them brought their own unique charm to the stables:

Chaos lived up to his name, keeping us all on our toes with his mischievous antics and boundless energy.
Bella was the gentle soul of the yard, always ready with a wag and a cuddle for anyone who needed it.
Scrappy may have been small, but he had the heart of a lion and the loyalty of a true stable companion.

They weren’t just pets — they were part of the Boydstone family, and their paw prints are forever on our hearts. 💫

🎆 Fireworks Night Reminder from Boydstone Stables 🎆

As Bonfire Night approaches, we kindly ask our local community to be mindful of the wellbeing of animals during this time.

🐴 Horses are flight animals and can become extremely distressed by loud bangs and flashing lights. Sudden fireworks near stables can cause panic, injury, and long-term anxiety.

💬 If you're planning to set off fireworks near Boydstone Stables, please let us know in advance so we can take steps to keep our animals safe.

✅ Consider attending an organised display.

🎃🐴 Thank You for a Spooktacular Halloween Night Ride! 🐴🎃

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Halloween Night Ride last night! It was very dark, very spooky… and absolutely brilliant. 🌌👻

Luckily, our trusty horses have night vision superpowers (or so we like to think!) and guided us safely through the shadows. 🐎✨
We loved hearing your laughter, and sharing the eerie magic of the night together. Until next time — stay spooky and saddle up soon! 🕸️🎃
