Bella,
A seven year old tri-colour Collie bitch is looking for a safe home where security and appropriate care is provided in abundance. Bella has been ‘inherited’ after her doting mum passed away and now circumstances have changed and Bella finds herself hapless and homeless!
Lovely with all adults, children and cats, Bella’s only foible is other female dogs in close proximity, she rarely shows interest in any dog when meeting outside or on walks, however, she just doesn’t want to share ‘personal’ space with another bitch.
Bella is not neutered as she has never come into season, she is not currently vaccinated however, her surrendering owner has agreed to do this prior to any handover. She is fully house-trained, well mannered and very affectionate.
Bella deserves a new home with owners who will respect her breed and afford her the time and attention that comes with owning a collie.
Bella will be rehomed on a ‘best home offered’ basis rather than ‘first come first served’. If you can offer this sweet, fun loving little middle aged lady a safe and secure home where she can settle, relax and enjoy life, please call Louise at Achnabreac Kennels 01546 606 695 for further details or to arrange to meet Bella.

🥳🥳UPDATE🥳🥳

💫✨Lachie has a home! ✨💫

We are absolutely delighted to tell you that Lachie will be heading off to his new home this week. 🏡🐶

Lachie was really animated when his knew owners came to meet him today, there definitely was a connection, he just perked up and was really sprightly in their company. He was keen to go with them when they left too, however, we just need to sort the paperwork and then he’ll be off to that lovely cosy fireplace and with two pairs of gentle hands to keep him safe!

The BIGGEST “thank you” EVER to everyone who phoned, sent messages, emailed, shared and commented on this post. We are completely ‘blown away’ with response, there were at least 40 genuine offers of a loving home for Lachie. That level of interest, care and sheer generosity offered is just incredible and completely heart warming, it has given Lachie a secure future and he now has a wonderful retirement to look forward to.
👏🏻Thank you again from all of us here at AK and a huge “woof” from Lachie🐾

❗️Desperately seeking a warm fireside and a gentle hand❗️

Please, is there someone out there who would care for this old boy and give him a secure and caring home?
Lachie, a small cross breed, possibly a Scottie or Westie type terrier, is believed to be around 14 years old has been placed in AK by a care agency as his only owner has been deemed too unwell to look after him anymore. It has been made clear that the funding to keep Lachie in kennels is finite.
A very sad and bewildered wee boy with the sweetest nature and a calm, quiet temperament, Lachie just needs a safe, cosy bed, and a gentle reassuring hand. In return, an owner would be rewarded with the knowledge that this wee chap was being saved from the unthinkable and being given the chance he deserves to see his years out securely.
In seemingly rude health, Lachie is eating well and really enjoying getting out for walks, he is very mobile and with the right motivation would enjoy increased outdoor activity, Lachie is clean in his kennel habits.
Please, please get in touch if you can offer this darling old chap a safe and secure ‘evening of life’. Call Louise on 01546 606 695 or message /email Achnabreac Kennels .
This truly is a desperate case with time running out to find Lachie a home.

🐶✂️ Welcome Amanda! ✂️🐶
We are delighted to let everyone know that Amanda Crawford from Inveraray has recently joined the AK team as Assistant Groomer helping to bath, dry and prepare dogs for grooming. With a gentle and positive approach and displaying a natural and intuitive instinct when handling dogs, Amanda has immersed herself in all things ‘grooming’. Pictured here with delightful little Molly the Cockerpoo, here for a “shampoo and set” recently, Amanda is keen to learn all aspects of pet dog grooming and hopes to be grooming solo before too long.

Today we said ‘cheerio’ to Jess, our groomer, she and her partner Aaron are off to explore warmer climes. Afternoon tea in honour of Jess was held at AK, lots of fun, lots of laughter and only tears when it was time for Jess to go. We are refusing to say ‘goodbye’ but rather choosing ‘au revoir’ and we’ll keep Jess’s scissors here, because maybe one day……….
Bon voyage Jess, we wish you all the luck and love as you embark on your new adventure.

‼️ LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME ‼️

Blue is a 16 month old Staffy Lurcher cross, due to be neutered prior to rehoming.
Fantastic with children and adults, Blue is also great with cats and other dogs, he is a typical puppy/junior, full of life, vim and vigour and this energy will require harnessing through obedience training. Blue is an exceedingly affectionate boy, he is quick to learn and enjoys one to one walks as well as off lead runs with other companion dogs, he would benefit from a fun structured training activity such as Agility or Man Hunting.
This is a sad rehome due to the owner’s sudden and unforeseen change in circumstance. If you can offer Blue a fun, active and caring home, where he can be safe and secure please call Mhairi on: 07580061670.

Seeking a Safe Home for Gentle Bear.

At 8/9 years old, Bear, a German Shepherd x Griffin type (complete guess) came to AK in November as unwanted.

At 60kgs he was grossly overweight, covered in bruises underneath from having to ‘flop’ onto hard floor surfaces, and furthermore with a mouth full of bad teeth, it was clear that Bear’s health was in complete crisis.

Under the veterinary direction of Dalriada Vets and coupled with the expert care of the AK team, Bear is now a new boy, weighing a svelte 40kgs, having had 17 rotten teeth removed, joint medication prescribed, fully vaccinated, worm/tick treatment given and microchipped, Bear is looking for a special owner and home, that will commit to ensuring his continued weigh loss and abide by his new health routine.

Bear has flourished at AK turning from a thoroughly depressed, inactive, pitiful soul to a motivated, happy and engaging dog who has found his long lost ‘Mojo’! We’d really like Bear to be the sole household pet, in any new home so that he is given the correct attention that he deserves and has missed out on for so long. Gentle Bear will reward his new owner immeasurably with affection, companionship and good manners both on and off lead.
If you can offer Gentle Bear a safe and secure home where continued attention to his physical and emotional welfare is guaranteed, please contact Louise or Emma by phoning Achnabreac Kennels on 01546 606695 or by Messenger.
