When was the last time your dog was touched without their consent?

Imagine you're visiting an old friends house and there are young children you’ve never met. One child runs up and hugs you, the other hides behind their parents legs. As you approach you can see the child is very shy and anxious. The more you look at and talk to the child, the more distressed they become. Would you contine to upset the child just to "say hello" or would you leave the poor kid alone? 🥺

So many dogs are approached and fondled by people that they don't know and are expected to not only tolerate it but enjoy it. 😥

Lots of dogs dislike their heads being patted or ruffled, even by their owners but we do it anyway.
HOWEVER some dogs absolutely love any
attention from anyone!! But is this right? Or are they ‘busy’ because they can’t cope with the situation.

We are bombarded with ‘perfect’ pictures on social media, others having more fun than us, living a ‘perfect’ life.

When real life is just not like that - It’s bumpy, there’s good and bad times, ups and downs.

The same can be said about your relationship with your dog, it might not be the ‘dream’ you pictured or that you see others having.

If you’re finding walks stressful, unwanted behaviours are driving you crazy and you’ve just had enough. Well that’s OK. YOU ARE ONLY HUMAN!

We have been in your shoes, we understand how you are feeling and we will never judge you for what you’ve tried before with your dog.

Terrible!

Following the death of PD Zara from Scotland in December 2024, it is with deep sadness that we share new evidence indicating that PD Zara was let down by those within Police Scotland who were entrusted with her welfare.

After reviewing her veterinary medical records, we can confirm that PD Zara’s prognosis was described as “great” following surgery, and that the specialist veterinary referral practice had requested authorisation for a CT scan to determine whether Zara required one or two surgeries. Instead of authorising the request from the veterinary specialists, the records show that the Inspector of the Police Scotland Dog Unit authorised the euthanasia of Police Dog Zara.

Police Scotland has since extended an invitation to the foundation to meet with us in the coming weeks to discuss our concerns. We remain fully committed to securing justice for Police Dog Zara. 🌈

Mille had her first 1:1 today. She’s a naturally nervous girl, but today marked the start of her journey toward feeling safer and more confident in the world.

We’re taking it slow, at her pace, and laying the groundwork for trust and calm. The right path begins with understanding. ❤️🐾

Spotty, the springer spaniel with a spring in his step!
🐾🐶

Spotty is full of beans, pulls like a freight train on the lead, and found it hard to settle. 😪

X-rays showed nothing out of the ordinary, but something in the way he moved made me pause.

I gently suggested they revisit the vet in case anything was being missed, and in the meantime, we looked at his home environment. Hard flooring, lots of jumping on and off the sofa - it all adds up. 🏠

So we made a simple change: rugs!
Soft landing spots, grippy surfaces, and less slip-sliding for those excitable springer legs. 🐾

The result? Massive.❤️❤️❤️

❤️He’s moving more freely.
❤️He’s settling more easily.
❤️He’s more comfortable in his own body.

That, paired with some calming free work, quiet observation time instead of over-stimulating walks, and today’s first gentle work on his leaf obsession - has brought about big shifts.

This is why what I offer is more than just training.
It’s understanding. It’s seeing the whole dog, not just the behaviour. It’s adjusting the world around them to help them feel safer, more stable, more themselves.

Discomfort isn’t always loud, it can show up in pulling, restlessness, and even quirky habits like chasing every falling leaf. When we pause to listen, to soften the world around them, to meet their needs… magic happens. ⭐️

Sometimes a rug is more than just a rug. It’s relief, support, and a step toward a more peaceful life. 🏠🐾⭐️❤️
