26/02279/DOGFOR Picked up 28/4/2026.

🛑Update🛑
The dog was chipped, I spoke with the person registered and was informed that the dog was given away only a couple of weeks ago to a person from Liverpool area but had no other details. Unsure how he has found his way back into Knowsley again. Hoping he wasn't abandoned- Its unlikely that this lovely boy will be claimed.

👉 ‘We’re not messin’ when it comes to tackling those who let their dogs foul the streets.

🐕 Our Environmental Enforcement Team are patrolling dog fouling ‘hot spots’ across the borough issuing Fixed Penalty Notices of £100 to irresponsible dog owners failing to clean up after their pets or without the means to remove dog foul. It is illegal to let your dog foul in a public place without cleaning it up.

Remember when out walking your dog:

✅ Be in control of your dog so you know when it has fouled
✅ Always carry a bag or other means of cleaning up after your dog at all times
✅ Always clean up after your dog if it fouls and
✅ Dispose of dog bags in the nearest bin or your maroon bin at home if there are no public bins nearby.

You can report any incidents of dog fouling to us on our website https://www.knowsley.gov.uk/report-it.
This allows the team to identify dog fouling hotspots and focus patrols in these areas.

🐾Thankyou to those who have offered homes to the dogs we have recently posted on our page.
We don't have any say in the rehoming process once the dogs have completed thier 7 days.
All of our strays move on to Manchester Dogs Home, so future decisions are down to them in relation to what kind of home the dogs are looking for.🐾

If you are seriously looking for your next furbaby and are in a position to do so please consider one of the many rescue dogs in your local rescues too. 🐕

We are now closed for the Easter Bank Holiday.
Any dogs found in the , & areas can be taken directly to Manchester Dogs Home. Please contact the dogs home by telephone before you attend.
We hope you have a lovely long weekend and we'll be back bright & early on Tuesday 7th April.

🛑THIS IS NOT A LOST DOG POST 🛑

This gentle giant was abandoned, tied to the fence in the carpark of the Dogs Trust.
There was a piece of paper stuck to their collar with a name assuming it was for the dog....

Dogs Trust are full and cant take in stray dogs so I'm really not sure what this person expected to happen, other than someone else to pick up the slack!!

Obviously there wasn't a microchip so this poor soul is now sat in kennels, luckily for them there are people there who care.

Its hard not to judge as we don't know the circumstances, as to why this was done. The one saving grace is that this poor dog was left where they could be found.

I really hope the ones who did this smiled as they have drove away as they have been caught on camera - this will be escalated.

Having spent time with this beautiful soul for quite sometime its definitely their loss.

Hard to remain professional on this post, just hope that karma does her thing!!!!

If you have any information you wish to share please call 0151 443 4712. This will be in the strictest confidence.

26/01841/DOGFOR

This dog was taken to Pets @ Home in Prescot late yesterday afternoon - 1/4/26.

The man who brought him in found him wearing a red harness and matching lead, he told the staff there that he had found the dog in Prescot. Dog was scanned no chip was found, the finder was given advice on who to contact to arrange collection as it was close to closing time and they had no facilities to keep them overnight.

The man removed the harness and lead and told the staff there that the dog was now their (swear word) problem now!!

Make of that what you will......

The kind staff there took the dog to another vets who had staff there overnight and was collected this morning.

If this dog belongs to you, please contact 0151 443 4712.
