Beautiful Layla was a French Bulldog who was deeply loved by her family, and after 11 wonderful years together, the goodbye they faced was unimaginably heartbreaking 💔

For almost her entire life, Layla had been healthy, happy and full of life - enjoying the love, comfort and happiness surrounding her every day ❤️ Sadly, over the last 8 weeks of her life, everything changed suddenly when she began suffering with seizures, something her family never expected to face after so many healthy years together 😞

Through every difficult moment, Layla’s family stood by her side with endless love and devotion, doing everything they possibly could for her. It was so clear how adored she was, and how much happiness she brought into their lives 🩷

Layla was truly given the most beautiful life - filled with love, safety, comfort and companionship from beginning to end. Her family should take comfort in knowing she knew nothing but unconditional love throughout her 11 years ❤️

Beautiful Hugo was loved beyond words, and in his nearly 7 years of life he brought endless happiness, love and companionship to those around him ❤️🐾

Sadly, Hugo lost his battle with IVDD - a heartbreaking condition that he fought so hard against. Throughout everything, his devoted mum Marlene never left his side. She dedicated her life to caring for him around the clock, putting his needs before her own and doing absolutely everything possible to help him through his battle. The love and dedication she showed Hugo was truly extraordinary, and he was so lucky to have a mum who loved him so deeply 🩷♥️

Last year, I unfortunately had to help Marlene say goodbye to her beautiful girl Missy - a wonderful pitbull with the gentlest soul and a heart of gold ❤️ I know that as Hugo crossed over the rainbow bridge, Missy was waiting there for him with excitement, ready to welcome her best friend home again 🌈🐾

Now they are reunited once more - running, playing and together again, with Hugo free from pain on strong little legs again 💔❤️

Dave was a truly extraordinary boy, loved deeply not only by his family, but by an entire community 🩷

Dave brought comfort, happiness and kindness to so many people throughout his life. As a therapy dog working with children through Alder Hey, Claire House and children’s homes, he helped bring smiles, comfort and calm to young people during some of the most difficult moments in their lives - something so incredibly special ❤️

Outside of his therapy work, Dave was also a much-loved character around Formby. From café visits and pub trips to adventures and treats, he seemed to make friends everywhere he went 🐾❤️ So many people knew and adored him, and it’s easy to understand why.

The bond Dave shared with his family was something truly beautiful. He was cherished every single day of his life, and it was so clear how devoted they were to giving him the happiest life possible. He was treasured every single day of his life, and it’s clear he knew nothing but love, safety and devotion from the moment they chose him as a puppy. Right until the very end, they stood by his side with so much strength and love 💔

The world needs more dogs like Dave, and more people like Sarah and her partner, who loved him so deeply ❤️

It has been such a privilege to have known and cared for Lewi – not only as a vet, but as someone who truly got to witness just how special he was ♥️

I first met Lewi when I was working at Andale Vets, and from the very beginning, he was the sweetest boy. I built such a lovely bond with him and his family, and it was always a joy to see them. They were an absolute credit to him – so devoted, so loving, and they would have done anything in the world for their boy 🤍

Lewi had the most beautiful, gentle nature. To his family, being in his company felt like the safest place in the world – a quiet, steady kind of comfort that you just don’t come across very often.

Laura, who dedicates her life to caring for other people’s beloved pets through her walking and pet care service, saw this side of Lewi every single day. He had this incredible, almost magical ability to calm even the most nervous of dogs. He helped so many of the dogs in her care – dogs who would usually react or struggle – would soften around Lewi. People would often say how their dogs only seemed to like him… and it’s easy to see why 🤍

When he was younger, he had his funny little quirks too – including spinning for cars, which always made people smile 😂 And as he grew older, he became even more cuddly, soaking up all the love he so deserved.

He was a friend to everyone – not just dogs, but even the local cats, who would run over to greet him on his walks 😺🤍

His last weekend was truly perfect – everything he deserved, surrounded by so much love and treats 🍫💕

Lewi wasn’t just a pet. He was Laura and her family’s soul dog. A best friend. A steady, comforting presence 🩷

Happy Easter to you all from myself at Over the Rainbow Bridge 🐣🌷🌈

I know for many, this time of year is filled with love, family, and special moments with those who mean the most - including our beloved pets 🐾💛

For those of you who are lucky enough to still have your furry companions by your side, cherish these moments - the quiet cuddles, the walks, the little routines that mean so much. These are the memories that stay with us forever 💫

And for those who are missing a much loved pet this Easter, please know you are not alone. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and days like this can feel especially heavy. Your love for them is still very much present, and always will be 🌈🐾🩷

Over the 4-day bank holiday weekend, I will be available for home euthanasia appointments for families who may find themselves in that incredibly difficult position. Hopefully this is not the case, but if anyone does need me, I am here 🩷🙏🏽

🩷🌈🐾Two Years of Over the Rainbow Bridge 🐾🌈🩷

It’s hard to believe that it’s two years since I started Over the Rainbow Bridge Home Euthanasia Service!

I feel incredibly humbled to have been welcomed into so many homes, and trusted by so many families at one of the most difficult moments of their lives. Being able to support people as they navigate such a heartbreaking situation, and to help ensure that their beloved pet’s final moments are peaceful, gentle, and filled with love, truly is an honour 🙏🏽

This work can be emotionally difficult at times, but knowing what it feels like to stand in that position as a pet owner myself gives me the strength to keep showing up for the families who need me 🧡

Helping pets pass over the rainbow bridge calmly and with dignity, in the comfort of their own home, means the world to me ❤️

To every family who has trusted me with their beloved companion - thank you. It is a privilege I never take for granted 🤍

Thank you again for trusting me with such an important moment 🌈🐾

Today we remember the gorgeous Maisie - a tiny Chihuahua with the biggest heart who filled her owner Tracey's life with love 🩷

For 16 wonderful years, Maisie knew nothing but comfort, warmth, and devotion. She was Tracey's baby girl in every sense of the word - cherished deeply, spoiled with her braised lamb dinners, and showered in endless kisses. A life so full of love, exactly as it should be ❤️

She was also the most natural, gentle mum, bringing four beautiful pups into the world. One of them, Ernie, stayed by her side, and from that moment on they were inseparable - a bond that only made her story even more special 🧡

Maisie wasn’t just a pet, she was family - a constant little presence, always there, always loved, woven into the fabric of everyday life. The quiet moments, the routines, the companionship… those are the memories that stay closest 💫

Maisie gently went over the rainbow bridge, held in Tracey’s love until the very end. She will always be her baby girl - forever loved, forever missed, leaving the softest yet deepest pawprints on her heart 🐾❤️‍🩹

❤️🌈🐾 In loving memory of Harley 🐾🌈❤️

Today we remember the gorgeous Harley - a boy full of character, mischief and so much love.💙

From being caught red-pawed in the veg patch pinching cucumbers 😂, to helping himself to the cat’s food on the kitchen counter, Harley truly lived up to his “naughtiest boy” title. He kept everyone on their toes and made sure there was never a dull moment.
But alongside that cheeky streak was the sweetest, most loveable soul. He welcomed foster brothers and sisters into his home with patience and kindness, and even shared his world with his bird siblings. For all his mischief, he had the biggest heart.💖

Harley was deeply loved, endlessly entertaining, and completely unforgettable. The house may feel quieter without him, but the memories - the laughter, the chaos, the cuddles - will always remain.❤️

The stories of his antics will be told with smiles for years to come. The empty spots he used to curl up in will always hold a piece of him. And the love he gave so freely will never fade - because a bond like that doesn’t end, it lives on forever 🤍

What a beautiful life he had, filled with warmth, patience and people who loved him exactly as he was.🫶🏽🧡

🤍🌈🐾 In loving memory of Holly 🐾🌈🤍

Today, we honour the lovely Holly. Holly wasn’t just a dog - she was a personality!! A stubborn little diva with a heart full of love and just the right amount of sass 💓💫

She was only originally meant to stay for just a couple of days… but Holly had other plans. She decided she loved her family far too much to leave - and so she stayed forever. The very best nine years followed, filled with love, laughter, and of course a few signature growls along the way.😆

Holly was a true sun worshipper ☀️ Whether she was perched proudly on the front step catching the morning rays, or stretched out on the decking working on her “full tan,” she absolutely adored the sunshine. It was her happy place.💛

When she wasn’t sunbathing, you’d likely find her at the garden gate - faithfully barking at passers-by, making sure everyone knew this was her territory. And once her security duties were complete, she was more than ready to claim her well-earned belly rubs.🧡

She was loved beyond words by her family, who are completely heartbroken at her loss. But in the midst of that sadness, there is comfort in knowing she was given the most dignified goodbye - surrounded by love, compassion, and the people she chose as her forever home.❤️🌈🐾

Run free in the sunshine, beautiful Holly ☀️
