NAWT Pet Support - Clacton Community NAWT Pet Support (Clacton Community), providing direct support to pets and people who love them within the Clacton Community 🐾

The National Animal Welfare Trust's Clacton site was originally set up by Ann and Reg Sims in 1984. It was entrusted to NAWT in October 2011 following the Sims' retirement after 25 dedicated years of service. We rehome around 300 cats and dogs at our Clacton centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before being rehomed.

Stormy & Snowflake are available for adoption! 🏡

✨ Name: Stormy and Snowflake
🐰 Breed: French Lop
🎂 Age: 5 years
💖 Personality: Stormy and Snowflake are inquisitive rabbits who love enrichment activities.
👫 Perfect match: Because of their close relationship, they will only be rehomed as a pair. They could happily live with sensible, rabbit-savvy children who understand how to handle them gently and respect their needs, ensuring they feel safe and secure.
📍 Currently at: Bedfordshire

💬 Stormy says:
"Hi I am Stormy, and this is my beloved Snowflake. We share a wonderful bond together, and I am devoted to my one true love, Snowflake. We love to groom one another, seek each other out for comfort and reassurance, and we feel safest when we're together. Foraging for tasty treats is one of our favourite activities to do together, and searching through stacking cups for hidden rewards. Our favourite snacks are dried apple slices, and fresh raspberry leaves, which never fail to get us excited! We are gentle, friendly rabbits who will happily tolerate being picked up and placed on your lap for a fuss, a stroke, or a brush, making grooming sessions a pleasant experience."

Django is available for adoption! 🏡

✨ Name: Django
🐶 Breed: Labrador Cross
🎂 Age: 4 years
💖 Personality: Django is a loveable boy, with a zest for life and a tail that never stops wagging.
👫 Perfect match: Due to Django's bouncy nature, he would be looking for a home without small children, unless they're experienced with larger, enthusiastic dogs.
📍 Currently at: Berkshire

💬 Django says:
"I live for my walks and absolutely thrive on meeting new dogs and their humans, when introductions are done calmly, I shine! I can get very excited, and when that enthusiasm kicks in, so does my strength, especially when I'm eager to explore new places. I am very food‐motivated, eager to learn, and already know a handful of tricks. With the right guidance (and a pocket full of tasty treats), I will happily show off my skills and learn plenty more. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion who will bring energy, laughter, and love into your home, I might just be your perfect match. I'm ready to find a family who can enjoy my enthusiasm and help me continue to grow into the brilliant dog I'm meant to be."

Announcement: New Services to support Clacton pets in need!

Although we no longer have a physical centre to operate from, we want to keep doing what we do best; being there when pets and their owners need us most, growing our reach and improving our services so we can help even more local pets and owners. We know many of the challenges facing this community because we have been part of it for so long, and we are committed to maintaining that reliable support you have always been able to count on.

Our focus is now on PREVENTION. We want to offer support before difficulties become crises, so that no owner ever has to face the heartbreaking decision to give up their dog or cat because they are struggling, facing financial hardship, or simply need a bit of help. We believe every pet deserves to stay safe, happy, and loved in their own home, alongside the people who know and love them most.

Our new name reflects exactly what we plan to do: provide direct support to pets and the people who love them, right here in the Clacton community. To find out more about our services, how you can get in touch, or how you can offer support, please see the dedicated page on our website: https://www.nawt.org.uk/our-services/our-centres/nawt-pet-support-clacton-community/

✨ WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY AT FOXASH DOG DAY WEELEY! ✨

We just wanted to say a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to absolutely everyone who came along, visited our stall, and showed such amazing support for National Animal Welfare Trust – Clacton today🐶💚

It was absolutely wonderful to see so many people and their lovely dogs enjoying the day! The crowds were brilliant, and thanks to your incredibly kind donations and purchases, we have raised vital funds that will go straight back into helping pets and owners right here in our own community — every penny makes such a difference, and we are so grateful ❤️

We also had some really great conversations with so many of you about the exciting relaunch of NAWT Clacton! 🤩 It was brilliant to share our plans and hear how much you are looking forward to what’s coming next. Please do watch out for news and posts right here on Facebook very soon — we’ll be sharing all our new and exciting plans, so keep your eyes peeled!

The Fox Ash Dog Show itself was amazing — so much talent on show! 🐩🏆

And we just have to give a special, massive congratulations to Honey the Beagle Puppy and her handler Nelly 🐾🥹 — who won her very first ever rosette at her first ever dog show! What a superstar start — we couldn’t be happier for her!

Thank you again for making it such a memorable, fun, and successful day for NAWT Clacton. We couldn’t do what we do without you all! 🫶
