The stables have been operating now for 8 years and what a time we have all had. We are proud to say that we are fully licensed with Cornwall Council with a 5 star rating and fully insured through SEIB. We are insured for riders as young as 18 months. We would also like to say how proud we were to have been nominated this year 2021 for the Business Equestrian Awards and manage to get into the top

4. What an achievement. Great Trethew Trekking is situated just off the A38 on the B3251 with easy access from Plymouth and further down in Cornwall. On site we offer a large range of activities for children and adults. We are extremely lucky to be able to offer all activities on site with no busy roads. We have 30 acres of gardens and woodlands to be able to offer quiet and tranquil woodland hacks all of which are suitable for children and adults of all ages and abilities. We are more than happy to ride with the group or alternatively we will walk on foot and lead children if necessary. We have now introduced our hacking lessons where our staff can assist you out hacking and teach you all you need to know and bring in the woodland jumps. Our sandschool is available for pony club lessons and private/group lessons up to the age of 16. We love a party and our pony club birthday parties are great fun with grooming, plaiting, glittering and painting the ponies and enjoying a woodland hack with your friends. We offer all sorts of day activities for all ages and abilities, so please keep an eye on our page for any special events coming up. Throughout the week we offer Home Ed groups as well. These groups are always kept small and teach you everything you need to know in the outdoor environment. Pony clubs are available every weekend and on several days throughout the week when not school term. A fab time to meet new friends and learn all about caring and riding your pony or horse. For those wanting a one to one time this is no trouble for us as we offering our 1/2/1 sessions with just you, your family and a member of staff. Keep an eye out on our page as we can also offer off site fun, we can take you and a pony/horse to the moors or to the beach or visit your house for a surprise.

❤️I Am A Lesson Horse❤️

I am a horse that isn’t as recognized as the top hunter jumpers, the best western pleasure horse, or the 1D barrel horse,
I am a lesson horse.
I am the backbone of the foundation to do all those things.
I am a lesson horse.
I am not loved by one person. I am loved by several people. I don’t have my person; I have my people.
I am a lesson horse.
I will teach your child and yourself more than just to ride. I will bring your child out of their shell. I will teach your child about life. I will be yours and their shoulder to cry on.
I am a lesson horse.
I will bring my family the joy of teaching kids. I will bring my families business growth. I am so loved by my family, even if they don’t express it every day. My family allows others to show me love and enjoy me.
I am a lesson horse.
At the end of your child’s journey on a lesson horse, they will outgrow me. They will find one that jumps higher, a horse that is show quality, a horse much faster than me. But I will never outgrow being a lesson horse. I will be the one that loved your child and helped your child grow into the rider and person they are.
I am a lesson horse.
At the end of my time as a lesson horse; I will be covered in grey hair. Each grey hair came from each hour I spent as a lesson horse. I will be in a field of green grass; I will be taken care of as I was when I was a lesson horse. I will watch your child from across the pasture love her new horse. But I will love your child more than any horse can. I will be the backbone of the business, the family, and your child.
