Happy 12th Birthday to our gorgeous boy, Max! 🎉

One of the VIPPIES’ beloved house dogs, Max has been a part of the family through countless adventures – from bluebell walks and beach days, to snuggly sofa times and always making everyone smile. 💕

A new outbreak of a recently discovered behavioral condition has been confirmed in the VIPPIES' community:

Snack-Selective Hearing Syndrome (SSHS).

Reported Symptoms:
🦻 Deaf to: “Come inside,” “Bath time,” “Leave the cat alone”
👂 Supersonic hearing for: the faintest sound of the cheese packet rustling from 4 rooms away
🐾 Telepathic connection: Doesn't even need to hear the word "walk" to be by the door, looking for the lead

Veterinary Update:
After extensive testing, vets have found that dogs' ears are working just fine… they're just operating on custom settings.

✔️ Shade and cool spaces
✔️ Cooling mats or coats
✔️ Walks only early morning or late evening
✔️ Avoid hot pavements – the 5-second rule still applies!
✔️ Pop a few treats or toys in the freezer for enrichment with a chill twist 🧊🐾

Did you know that while ripe tomatoes are generally safe for dogs in small amounts, the green parts of the plant (stems and leaves) can be toxic? 🌿❌

A little ripe tomato as an occasional treat can be a tasty, low-calorie snack - but always remove stems and leaves, and stick to plain, fresh tomatoes (no sauces or ketchup, please!).

If you ever have questions about what’s safe for your pup to snack on, just ask Jade - as our resident Canine Nutritionist, she's on hand to help keep your furry friends healthy and happy! ❤️🐾

🐾☀️ A gentle reminder from VIPPIES...

We know our wonderful tribe of dog lovers already understand, but please help spread the word far and wide.

🌡️ Dogs can’t regulate their body temperature like we can. Walking them when it’s hot puts them at real risk of heatstroke and burnt paws.

🚶‍♀️ If you must head out, if you have a dog who simply won’t do their business in the garden — take the shortest route possible to some grass, let them do what they need to, and head straight back home.

🌳 Consider taking them to the woods and sticking to shaded paths and grassy areas — it’s much gentler on their paws and helps keep them comfortable.

✅ Keep them safe.
✅ Keep them cool.
✅ Keep them indoors during the day, and only walk them early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler.

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine responsibly, everyone! 🐶❤️
