Well… today’s unexpected drama day sitting involved a dog, my 3-year diary planner and a bowl of water 😭🐶💦

One little nudge later and my planner ended up taking an unplanned swim.

Currently attempting emergency recovery efforts:
📖 tea towel drying
☀️ standing it in the shade
🙏 hoping the pages survive until at least October 2027

Safe to say, life working with animals is never boring 🤣

Thankfully the dog involved was completely adorable… so I suppose I’ll let them off this time 😬🙈💙

☀️ These past couple of days have been incredibly hot, with temperatures reaching around 33°c today.

During my day sits, my main focus has been keeping the pets in my care safe, comfortable and cool 🌿

Before any little toilet break into the garden, I’ve been taking a moment to cool the path down and gently checking the heat with my hand first. It’s a small thing, but it gives peace of mind that paws aren’t stepping out onto anything too hot 🥵 or uncomfortable.

In this heat, even quick garden trips need extra care - shade, fresh water and keeping everything calm and cool make such a difference 💧

On days like this, it’s a reminder that looking after pets isn’t just about being present… it’s about really noticing, adjusting and putting their comfort first in every moment ❤️

Their safety always comes first 💗

Today David Attenborough turns 100 🌍🐾

Growing up, my grandpa used to buy me the videos of his programmes and I loved watching them. I remember being completely fascinated by the animals and nature and looking back now, I honestly think that was the start of my love and journey with animals.

Even now I still find his programmes calming to watch. There’s just something about his voice that instantly relaxes you.
I honestly think he has inspired so many people to appreciate animals and the world around us a little more 💚

Sometimes I think the hardest part of running my business isn’t the pet care… it’s the posting.

I have so many things I want to share - little moments, updates, ideas but they end up half written in my notes or diary because I overthink what to say, what photos to use or whether it’s “right” to post.

And then time passes… and I don’t post at all.

I’m sure I can’t be the only one who does this 🤔

I really loved doing my recap posts last year and I’ve had some new ideas to do something similar this year… but if I’m honest, I only thought about it in April and haven’t actually started yet - it’s still just an idea 💡

Now it’s about bringing it to life.

Lately I’ve found myself stopping and thinking about how far Odi Bear Pet Care has come… and honestly, it brings a few happy tears 🥹

Thank you for keeping me so busy, for trusting me and for letting me care for your pets - it truly means everything to me.

I am still here, still trying to share more and still giving every pet my full care 💗🐾

I saw a news report this morning about pets being mistreated by a sitter while their owners were away and honestly, it really shocked and upset me.

This isn’t just a job to me, it never has been. Caring for animals is something I feel very deeply about and it’s one of the reasons I became a 1:1 pet sitter.

I know how much trust it takes to hand over your home and your pets to someone else and that’s something I never take lightly.

When I’m with your pets, I’m fully there with them - keeping their routine, their comfort and their wellbeing at the centre of everything.

I share regular updates while you’re away because I know how much those little moments mean when you’re not there, it’s something I’d want too and I’d always rather keep you updated than leave you wondering.

Every pet I care for matters to me. They’re not just part of my work, they’re individuals I build a connection with and I want them to feel safe, settled and cared for at all times.

Seeing stories like this is heartbreaking, but it also reminds me why I care so much about doing things the right way. 🤍

Today was a special one 🐾💗

After 7 months, I walked through the door and heard that sound… the kind you never forget 🥹

They remembered me!! And honestly, I’ve missed them just as much.

So special to see them again and two other familiar faces too in this beautiful weather ☀️

Moments like this remind me why I care the way I do 🏡🐾

Adventures with Penny 🐕

This morning’s walk came with a little reminder for Auntie Karen 😆
I brought along Penny’s two absolute favourites:
🐾 Her long line
🎾 Her pink ball

What I didn’t fully factor in… was just how enthusiastic she’d be 🤣

Let’s just say I may have forgotten she was on a long line lead at one point and got a surprise “launch moment” when she shot off after her ball 😂 Luckily, we both stayed upright!

She’s honestly such a character, full of joy, curiosity and absolutely loving life outdoors.

Walks like this are never just about distance… it’s all about sniffing, exploring and enjoying the moment. And Penny definitely did all of that today 🐶💛
