How Kimi unwinds after a morning at work with me! She was a fantastic stooge dog during a one to one session with a young Labrador who is working on feeling more relaxed around other dogs. Kimi’s role was to stand still while the Labrador and their owner learned to apply the techniques that we’ve been learning during our one to one sessions. Who needs food when you’ve got this as your reward?!

When a puppy gets a new teething chew and doesn’t know whether to play with it or bite it! Notice the play bows and the high pitched bark. This tells us that puppy is having fun and is happy to play. Watching our puppies and dogs play tells us a lot about them.

Looking into a puppy’s eyes gives us humans a rush of oxytocin (unless you’re made of stone!). Thats the same neurochemical that a human (and dog) mother releases during child birth. Powerful stuff. We get a hit of oxytocin whenever we hug someone we love and both dog and human experience it when we fuss our dogs. Yet another way we are so similar to our four legged friends. This is Rubie. She has just started her one to one puppy training with me. She has only just moved into her new forever home so our focus this week is to get her settled with toilet training and establishing a routine etc then we’ll move onto some age appropriate training. Sometimes my work with clients starts before the puppy even arrives! Loved receiving these photos yesterday of the new puppy spaces than this client has created in their home. Creating designated spaces for your puppy to retreat to gives them much needed chill time. The garden pen is to create a special wee spot which promotes toilet training (it’s not staying on the stones when puppy arrives as they love to chew them!). Introductory phone call, 2 x one hour long online one to one sessions, a selection of helpful written guides and videos to keep, check in calls and a follow up call at the end of your course.

I’m an Accredited Puppy Trainer and have wealth of knowledge to pass on to puppy owners to help avoid making common mistakes. You might choose to have one or both or your online sessions before puppy arrives to help you get ready for their arrival or have one or both sessions after they’ve come home. Getting it right from the start should decrease the possibility of behavioural issues further down the line. Along with heaps of support and tips with the usual things like toilet training, establishing a routine, crate training, dealing with puppy biting, teaching puppy not to jump up and knowing when to start leaving puppy on their own, I’ll be able to offer advice that’s specific to your situation. This could be helping children in the household bond with the dog or learning more about your puppy’s breed and how to meet their needs. Perhaps you have a specific problem that you need help with like puppy not sleeping.
