Poor Mystery has been poorly over Christmas 😢 he stopped eating on Christmas Eve morning so we rushed him to the vets who immediately noticed a problem with his very back teeth. They performed an emergency operation and he came back to his fosterer the same night with medications and advise to syringe feed him. Thank you so much Number 1 Vets for your swift action ❤️
One of our fantastic rabbit fosterers Alexandria Joy put all her Christmas plans on hold and has spent the whole of the festive season nursing Mystery back to health. And what a wonderful job she is doing
Mystery isn't fully recovered yet so please keep him in your thoughts 🙏 and send Alex lots of coffee and chocolate to kerp her going on minimum sleep 😄

Our prey animals need their companions most when they’re poorly and need the vets!

Having a familiar friend to snuggle with when things are stressful is one of the biggest benefits of companions. Whether it’s a last minute emergency appointment or a routine health check, don’t split your bonded fluffs.

Splitting rabbits and guineas up does nothing for their bond and it’s not something an ethical vet would ever recommend. If your vet ever does suggest this, feel enabled and empowered to educate them - because that’s how practice improves.

Back in October 2024, a kind local resident spotted a wary mum cat outside her window, keeping a careful eye on her four tiny kittens. That mum was Dazey, and that moment marked the start of a 13-month mission to help her.
Since then, we successfully trapped two of Dazey’s litters, all of whom are now living their very best lives thanks to ARV. Dazey herself, however, remained elusive, always just one step ahead of us.
Along the way, while trying to catch her, we also managed to help four other stray cats, plus another litter of kittens, all of whom were trapped, neutered, microchipped, and treated, and given the chance of a brighter future.
Catching Dazey truly became a community effort. It involved knocking on doors, making new
friends and working closely with so many lovely residents along Valley Lane and Trent Valley Road,
as well as the eagle-eyed neighbours in the nearby flats. Everyone was rooting for her, even if she had no idea.
Then, on a dark night in October 2025, it finally happened… we got her! When the message went
into the group chat, we’re sure a cheer echoed all the way down Valley Lane and Trent Valley.
Dazey is now back where she belongs on Valley Lane, but this time she’s safe, treated and free from the endless cycle of pregnancy. And now, whenever someone spots her quietly slipping past,
there’s comfort in knowing her life is a little easier - because people cared.
